I have 2 boys that are now in high school that went to Boulder Creek I now have one daughter in 4th grade there. I am very happy with the school & I think so highly of Linda Grovert. One of my sons did have some issues with a few teachers but I was happy with how things were dealt with. I have never heard anything about gangs there & would be shocked if that were true. I have twins that will start Kindergarten in 2006 & I feel very comfortable with them attending Boulder Creek.

Our children have been attending Boulder Creek for 2 years and we are extremely happy with the education they are receiving, along with the wonderful staff. The core knowledge curriculum is awesome and what they are learning is remarkable. The AR reading program is being emphasized this year as the computer labs are now able to handle the testing, etc. The outside school property is well maintained as well as the inside. All teachers take pride in their work and the teachers we have had - have been outstanding. The honors program is excellent and what our child needed to challenge him as the normal classroom activities were boring him. The PTO does alot for the school even with a small group that meets on a regular bi-monthly basis. We feel blessed to have Boulder Creek as our neighborhood school because of the staff that is there & the education they are receiving.

A fine school with very dedicated staff. The teachers are all very committed to their students and the parental support is great. My only concern on a school level is the amount of disharmony between the teachers and the principal. I don't know if this issue is common when there are so many people who are passionate about their work, but it does seem to have an impact of the kids.

This is a good school with dedicated teachers. It is really a shame that there aren't overnight fieldtrips at any grade level at this school. I know firsthand what a valuable learning experience these can be. My son went on the 2nd Grade Overnight Zoo fieldtrip in Spring 2003. We both enjoyed the experience and learned so much! What a shame.

The principal is a good leader, very diplomatic and professional towards the parents and students. I find the front office staff's attitude to be negative. I appreciate the PTO's efforts to get covers for the playground.

We are extremely happy with Boulder Creek Elementary. So far we have one student in Kindergarten. Both Kindergarten teachers go the extra mile to come up with unique activities that help the students get excited about school and retain what they are being taught. We have found plenty of opportunities for parent involvement and participation. The other staff and the principal have all been very approachable and involved with the students. We are also very pleased with the safe and comfortable learning environment they provide.

I have found Boulder Creek to be a great school with exception to the supervision of children out on the playground, I have a son in sixth grade that has spoken of things that are going on and about the gangs. This is of great concern to me as a parent, I am surprised that we have kids in our school that find the need to belong to a gang. I must say I have found the teachers to be of the highest calibar, with solutions for all situations. I would recommend this school to anyone.

What do I think? I think that under the extraordinary leadership of Linda Grovert, we are among the luckiest parents in the Valley!

We're quite happy with the school, but I'm sad to see the lack of parent participation. I'm told by friends at other schools that the problem isn't unique to Boulder Creek, but it doesn't make me feel any better for those kids who really need their parents' support.

I have had issues with the 3rd grade teaching's and the fact they are not on the same page, also a teacher is making unneccesary statements to students such as, 'You will not go to Fourth Grade if you do not listen'. With that aside the Pricnical Mrs. Grovert Has been extremely helpful in bridging the gap between problem and solution. She is a wonderful and extremely involved educator who deserve the up most resprct. I have had NO other problems with any other teachers or areas in the school. It's a great, safe and wonderful place for children to attend and learn.

Although I like Boulder Creek - I have two students there now, I think some things can definitely be improved. Some of the teachers have a little too much leeway in what they teach.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Arizona used the Arizona Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) to test students in reading and mathematics in grades 3 through 8 and 10, writing in grades 5, 6, 7, and 10, and in science in grades 4, 8 and 10. AIMS is a standards-based test, which means that it measures how well students have mastered Arizona learning standards. Students must pass the grade 10 AIMS in order to graduate. The goal is for all students to meet or exceed state standards on the test.
