I have two children who go to Campbell after a ruff start with their first school. Campbell teachers, administration, and staff have been amazing for our children. Their is a certain expectation for everyone that steps on campus at Campbell, students to the parents as well as the entire staff. Our children look forward to many more years at Campbell.
Our family moved here from out of State a year ago and enrolled our children at Cloves C. Campbell Elementary. Every teacher was engaged and energetic providing a great learning experience for each of our 3 children. I am very pleased with the education my children received and would refer any member of my family or dear friends to this school. Standards are set and encouraged. Each child is challenged to progress and learn and they develop a passion for what it is they are being taught.
My daughter attended this school for Kinder and 1st Grade. Her first year was difficult because she had a teacher who just didn't care about her success. The beginning of her 1st grade experience was starting to took bad until she was transferred to Ms. Jackson's class. My child began to make great academic improvements under Ms. Jackson's instruction. That all changed when administration placed another teacher in the classroom to work with Ms. Jackson. My child began not wanting to come to school because of the change, however she was still eager to work with Ms. Jackson everyday. All faith I had in this school has diminished, administration disrupts the culture of a classroom and from what I understand they have let go of Ms. Jackson a great teacher. Administration does not want to employ motivating forward thinking educators. My child will not be attending this this fall.
My children just completed their first and last year at Campbell. After a difficult year trying to work with teachers and administrators, I have come to the conclusion that neither teachers nor staff are willing to work with parents who want their children to receive a quality education coupled with an enjoyable experience with school overall. Furthermore, it seems that the administrators are accustomed to dealing with parents who don't realize the shortcomings in the system, and therefore when educucated and experienced parents point out flaws in the system we are met with blatant disrespect and hostility. This was by far the worst experience I have had with any school my children have ever attended.
This school is a zero! Does not send information on time. Do not have info on my childs teacher and start date. Found out by neighbors and not by school.. Called school but only answer is by machine. I am looking else where for my childs education.
im a student there at campbell even though it really hasnt been that good of a year but one thing i can say is that campbell teaches me stuff that i never really new,ive always been really intellegent but they opened so many doors to my future. every since been going there ive have had three honor roll certificates and i want to thank the teachers that help me get this far...and im graduating from the 8th grade im really going to miss this school learning abilities, they have sent me to the district because i wrote an essay for the be a leader foundation i have 4 certificates to be proud of all thanks to campbell. all my thanks are going to the teachers that made this all posssible..
Too many student to teacher ratio. Not enough books for the students, therefore unable to take books home. Gives the children a disadvantage for those who struggle.
i am a student that attends cloves c. campbell. this school is a excellent school they help you understand your work more easily. the school is in good condition. my parents moved me from sierra vista school that is in bad condition but just made performing +. campell elementary school has been performing. campbell is a performing + school. sierra vista had been failing since my third grade year until 6th grade i guess they finally did good on aims in 2008 to finally know be in performing +, it is a okay school. but i suggest you should enroll your child into campbell elementary school!!
This school is outstanding. It is the role model for the entire Roosevelt District. Hats off to Ms. Fig Stew and Ms. Hedrick for their jobs as administrators.
Well both of my children went to Clovis C. Campbell and I thought that not all of the teachers were as friendly as they should've been. I felt that they judged my children and because of that my children did not get the education they were sent there to get. I tried to talk to the principal and she was very rude and; more into taking up for her teachers who admitted that they were under staffed as far as P.E. I plan on sending them to another school with better education.
Campbell school has come a long way! great improvements overall. Still lacking in some areas. Still not enough after school activities and parent involvement. Also security still needs to be worked on. Do not assume all adults are parents. Question unknown visitors. New principal is great. Teachers are making a possitive difference. My one only suggestion to the principal, teachers and staff would be to be friendlier with parents.
I am a substitute teacher. This is the only school in the entire district I would have my child attend. The classes are clean and cheerful. The staff is friendly. The children have all the needed resources to be successful. The kids I have taught are on grade level and want to learn. The kids are actually respectful too! So the teachers are doing something right at that school. The school also seems to have inexpensive things for families to do like movie night at the school.
Our child is in the headstart program due to an IEP and I have not been very impressed overall. Communication seems to be lacking, except for parents who pick up their child every day. They also don't have as many computers as I'd like.
Campbell Elementary seems to be a good school in my opinion. I feel that it doesn't get as much publicity for all the good things the teachers and principal does for the students.
This school is a joke. I had to pull my son out after attending for only 3 months. He was not learning at all. The teachers are inexperienced and should not be educating children. Lack of communication with parents is also a big problem.
Communication by Principal and District as a whole relatively non-existent. One day notice for most extracurricular activities. Initiatives for parental involvement are dismal. Parental and teacher concerns are met with skepticism and ignored. In a word, I am ashamed and embarassed by the leadership and overall quality of the school. I will offer one point of hope - the apparent commitment of the some of the teaching staff.
This school has a lot to offer. The teachers, for the most part, are well qualified, caring, loving, and understanding of the various cultural and emotional aspects/concerns of teaching in the area. The principal needs an assistant principal to help with the daily demands of running a successful school. Obviously the scores are improving each year, which is very encouraging. The media has a lot of negative comments to make and therefore the school nor district are given a fair chance. It would be helpful if there was more parental involvement with the students and at the school site. It has always been my experience that the teachers welcome parents and would appreciate their in-put as well as their presence in the classrooms and on campus. I think there is a need for the school and community to form a closer and better alliance for all to benefit.
Security needs a bit of improvement, also kids need to be kept inside more in hot wheather. Staff needs to ackowledge parents. Principal needs to be more involved with parents and recieving children in the mornings.
