I agree this is not a good school. My son wanted to drop out of school after attending there. He learned nothing while attending this school. He's transferring!
My daughter has gone to this school for 3 years (1st-3rd grade). I don't feel the teacher's challenge her ability. It's basically the same homework every day - Read 15 minutes. What kind of homework is that? I don't feel like she is learning very much. The class pace is set at the level of the lowest students. I don't even know what they are learning in class half the time. Parent teacher conferences are always running late and are very basic. I don't get very much out of them.
This school is one of the better schools in the Roosevelt District, it earned the label of 'performing' by the Arizona Department of Education. The students are able to participate in special area classes that include: library, art, music, and PE. Students in upper grades also get to participate in Band and Future Teachers.
Ed & Verma Pastor school is not a good school. I have made the decision to withdraw my son and place him in a school with higher standards & a decent principle.
I feel this school lacks the necessary tools for students to succeed. I had 3 of my children enrolled and took them out and placed them in a private school. I want an education system to take education seriously, and I feel this has not been done. It starts with the priciple, who I feel has no direction when it comes to making this school succeed.
My child has been enrolled in Pastor School for the second have of his 7th year and so far all of this 8th year. I have experienced acceptable things from Pastor School. I have been shown that the teachers care and really do have my child s best interest at heart. I grew up in the Roosevelt school district and it created a very successful person in me, I believe it will do the same for my child. When I request something of the teachers I get accurate and immediate responses. I believe that Pastor School has the same type of leadership as it name on the outside of the building. I suggest Pastor School, but parents you have to stay involved also and you only get out of Pastor scholl what you are willing to put in. Its' YOUR childs education.
After a year of having my son enrolled in Pastor school,I am pulling him out and enrolling him elsewhere. I feel the Roosevelt District as a whole is only getting worse. The principal of Pastor lacks communication, leadership and management skills. I have tried talking with her and I felt my concerns were not addressed properly or taken seriously. I want my son to excel in his education and it's not going to happen at Pastor School. I am very disappointed & frustrated and have no choice but to seek my son's education elsewhere. Before you enroll you child in this school, please reconsider and look for other options.
