Time flies when you re having fun at QCE! We had a very successful fall semester that couldn t have been accomplished without the wonderful students, parents and staff of Queen Creek Elementary. As we prepare for another eventful spring semester I would like to take the opportunity to reflect on the beginning of the year. Some of our fall highlights include receiving an A label from the state of Arizona. All schools are evaluated on how many students pass AIMS and how much students academically grow each year. Student of the Month Assemblies and Awards Ceremonies were held to honor all of the great achievements and progress our students make every day! We had a Flag Raising Ceremony for Veterans Day with a great job done by the Cub Scouts and QCE Choir! During Character Counts and Red Ribbon Week we had presentations from the MCSO Helicopter, QC Fire Department, ASU Men s Gymnastics Team and the Sheriff s Canine Unit. Coach has watched over the Cup Stacking Club and ongoing Running Club. The music teacher has led our K-4 After-School Choir and put on the 3rd and 4th Grade and Choir Holiday Performance. Our Special Ed. classes participated in the Special Olympics bowling competition. We had our annual Grandparent s Day Luncheon and Performance along with our Book Fair. PTO has been wonderful this year with their Cookie Dough Kick-Off, Santa Shop and Holiday Movie Night with funds raised going to all new classroom printers and PE equipment. I hope you are able to take some time and enjoy the holiday season with your family, friends and loved ones. I m very fortunate to have such great students, supportive families and a great staff. I look forward to 2014 and all that it encompasses right here at Queen Creek Elementary, together for children.
Queen Creek Elementary has been the best choice for my children. The teachers and staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and really know how to work with kids. I love the fun atmosphere and the cohesive curriculum, My kids are learning amazing things and smiling at the same time. I know that my kids are getting a quality education and are very prepared for the future. So happy QCE is the place to be!
All four of our children have attended (or are currently attending) QCE. We feel very much at home at our school. We spent 3 years at JBE but after the boundaries changed, we were moved to QCE. What a blessing that change was. We have excellent teachers, all have gone above and beyond to help our students both academically and personally. We have experienced the passing of a close family member, all QCE teachers and Principal were very supportive and caring. The school has wonderful after school programs (ie: Run Club for $20/student, choir, LEGO club, Cup Stacking, etc). The PTO is excellent, fundraisers for school/classroom necessities as well as for famililes in need within our QCE community. I cannot say enough positive things about QCE. If you have a problem, Mrs. Copeland is right there, listening to your issues and finding a solution. If I lived out of district I would still bring my kids to QCE.
QCE is a great school. I was hesitant to send my children here, since GreatSchools.org only gives them a "7", but I'm so glad I gave the school a chance. (Side note- where does the 7 come from? This school itself has an "A" rating and the entire district was rated the #1 district in Maricopa county in 2013. Maybe Greatschools needs to update their records.) The principal, Mrs. Copeland, is very dedicated, the front staff is VERY friendly with both parents and the children, and our teachers have been great. I've had some minor discussions with some of the special resources staff- Speech Pathologist, School Psychologist and the Resource leader, and they've all been helpful for me and my child. The PTO is very active as well. Overall, my experience has shown me that this school cares for their children. Don't hesitate to send your child here; I'm glad I did!
All the staff and teachers are wonderful. They really meet the needs of every child.
This is a wonderful school! We are very happy with the education that our children receive at Queen Creek Elementary. The staff is terrific and we are thrilled that Mrs. Copeland has returned!!! A+++
LOVE the school and staff !! my kids love it there ! the front office is so helpfull
We just moved from J.O. Combs District to Queen Creek District. We enrolled our two children into Queen Creek Elementary. We were very excited until some red flags arose. The first red flag was at Meet the teacher . The teacher was impersonal had just handed us paper work to fill out and sat at her desk. Our oldest child was having issues getting two hours of home work done every night (3rd Grade). He came home with complaints that if he asked for further instruction on how to complete his work she would say, I only give out instructions one time because you need to listen the first time. ( Which she did not deny)??? This was one of the several complaints he was mentioning not to mention being bullied in the class. (He was an honor student for two years at J.O. Combs and received the highest award in the
This is a wonderful school loved by both students and parents alike.
We moved into the Queen Creek district in 2005 during the building boom. Our son was in K. With the addition of a new principal whom is extremly enthusiatic and available. Our experience with QCE has been nothing but positive for our son. If you child has extra cirricular activities the school is completly supportive. Our son has been promoted to 3rd grade. He will be in a 3rd and 4th grade mixed educational class. there will probably not be more than 18 students in his class. If you like down home values in a small town then QCE will be a great addition. Your child will be identified and allowed to excell to higher levels of educational training. QCE is whole heartly supportive of higher education, but not mandatory. The school offers multiple class settings depending on the student/parent choice.
I have two children at QC Elm and I am very pleased with their education. The principal goes above and beyond what is typically expected for her role. The teachers are dedicated and great leaders. The special ed team is awesome as well!
This is my son's 2nd year at QCE and he loves it. I am pleased as well, I just wish they'd give more notice for school activities sometimes.
My son has just completed kindergarten at QCE, and I am extremely pleased with the education he received. The kindergarten staff has been very proactive at keeping up with the growth in our area by adding another teacher. This kept the class sizes manageable. Parent involvement is encouraged not only by the teachers, but also the new principal Mrs. Horton. Even though this area is turning more into a city everyday, QCE staff maintain small town values in regard to running their school.
My daughter is the Little Coyotes program (special needs preK). We are absolutely thrilled with the school, classroom aide, her teacher and Mrs Horton.
This year is our first at QCE. I am very impressed with everything. The Principal, Erika Copeland, is compassionate, approachable and involved in all the daily routines. There are many after/before school activities and clubs for the students to be involved in. Tutoring and Homework Club are offered for those needing a little extra help. There is a highly recommended after school care on campus provided by The Boys and Girls Club. Our older child loves being a part of Ms. Noonan's class. She is a caring teacher who is giving our child the best 3rd grade education. We have nothing but fabulous things to say about our 1st grader's teacher, Mrs. Schiermyer too. She is energetic, kind and our child adores her. I think the staff and teachers are well qualified and seem to enjoy their careers. We could not be happier to be in part of QCE.
We are new the the Queen Creek School District. We came from a different (and awful) school district in this area. We were very unhappy with our choice to move to AZ until we moved into the Queen Creek Elementary boundaries. The new principal seems concerned about her students. The safety and education of students seems to be a top priority for her. We are proud of our small class sizes and friendly teachers. Queen Creek Elementary is an established school & they are doing a great job educating our children.
There is no parental support and the school is not growing as quickly as the area. Not impressed witht the teachers nor principal. They have an excellent special ed. teacher.
My son went to the preschool program at QCE and he really did very well. He learned letter recognition, number recognition and other basic skills. The school invited the parents all the time and encouaged them to visit anytime. They had a library, music, and PE program and they all seemed very good.
