My children have all attended these schools starting in K. This school in particular is awesome. My youngest child has a learning disability and also suffers from ADHD. He has always had a difficult time, but with the help of fantastic, caring teachers, including the amazing special education team and speech pathologist, he has improved. I'm so happy and grateful to have their help and support.
This school is great. My son and my daughter go to this school since kinder and never had a bad experience. Academics are on top. Now, my concern is on reviews regarding bullying. My son got bullied on this school when he was in grade one and Mr. Mc Afee (the principal back then) did a very good job apprehending the bully kid and have him apologize to my son in front of us. His parents got called and from what I heard this kid does not go to BFCS anymore. Now my concern is the change of principal. Hopefully Ms. Arnolds will do the same thing that Mr Mc Afee did to the bully and not give them free pass.
My kids came from another school mid year last year and I realized how far behind other schools are compared to this school. The teachers are amazing and got my kids caught up to this schools standards. The schools standards are held at a higher level than the state and the school truly teaches a grade level higher. Something else I would like to mention is the principal Mrs. Arnold is the most amazing principal. She takes the time to know each student and truly cares about all the kids. She is always been available to talk to and is very prompt at returning calls, emails and resolving any concerns. If you are considering this school, I highly recommended it. Not to mention my kids LOVE everything about this school.
I have been bringing my children to this school since 2001. All four of my children have or will received an education from K-6. I highly recommend this school and would not think of any other school they should attend. Their curriculum is beyond average and teaching skills are outstanding. Their no tolerance of violence and bullying is outstanding and is enforced. My four children have never had any issue with this because of the zero tolerance at the school. My 2 children that are no longer at this school and are onto high school have the skills needed to be at the top of their grade levels and I feel its the core of Ben Franklin that have led them to success. I would and have highly recommended this school to many other parents.
I would rate Benjamin Franklin Charter School Crismon Campus as excellent. The curriculum is top notch always working a grade level ahead. The grading scale is elevated to encourage excellence and achieve high expectations. Teachers are phenomenal in the way they administer the curriculum and most importantly the way they care for the kids. Parent involvement is what makes the school great, with an excellent parent association. There are high standards of behavior as well as modest dress. They focus on monthly values that teach our kids about life and what's most important. The music and PE programs are first rate. The principal and staff are exceptional and are always trying to improve the quality of our school. My kids will always attend this school as long as it's standing:)
My children have attended this school since 2008. I have appreciated the pace and the challenge that comes with their academic material and am proud that they have risen to it and been successful. A very close second to seeing them be successful and challenged in school is to know that they are loved and appreciated by their teachers. I have felt of the investments of their teachers over the years and have appreciated the open door they show to me in mutual commitment to my child's education and well being. I trust my kids to be safe, to be taken care of, and to be well taught while they are away from me during the day. That is a wonderful feeling!
My children have been attending BFCS - Crismon Campus since 2002. We have had a great deal of experience in getting to know the staff and many of the other families that attend that campus. I can easily say that there is no where else I would rather have my children attend school. The teachers and staff provide a warm, caring environment where children are able to learn to their utmost potential. The curriculum is excellent and the basics are reinforced year after year to allow a firm foundation for further education. I also have one child attending the new Benjamin Franklin High School and our experience there has been exceptional, as expected. My husband and I have been very pleased with the education our children have received at Benjamin Franklin Charter School.
We are new to Arizona and Benjamin Franklin Charter Schools as of this 2013-14 school year. Having homeschooled for several years in Colorado, we were delighted to find a charter school that had a challenging curriculum, taught and encouraged values (including patriotism), and fosters leadership in our children. Learning that they also offered orchestra was also very important to us. The teachers and staff have encouraged love of learning and high expectations for student behavior which makes for a wonderful classroom environment! We are so glad to partner with this campus in providing the best for our children's education.
The homework/curriculum load is a bit much. We love most all the teachers we have had. The principal is fantastic. She truly cares for all the kids at the school.
Benjamin Franklin Charter School is a dream come true for our family. In a world of decreasing values and standards in education we were hesitant about where to send our children. This school has a wonderful curriculum and the standards of behavior expected of the children are nothing less than exemplary. I know our children will succeed and are already showing skills and knowledge beyond what most schools would expect for their age. Hands down this is the best school out there!
I want others to know that the core values, the curriculum, the direct instruction that is the fundamental basis of our school, is top notch. Children that come to this school not only perform above grade level, but acquire the dedication, skills, habits, and values that are vital to their becoming successful, qualified, and amazing adults. I have seen this time after time. As a parent, before I even dreamed of becoming a teacher here, and now as a teacher. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this amazing school.
Is wonderful, the music/orchestra/band program is amazing. The teacher's who teach the program are like no other and take pride in teaching our kids. With so many doing away with music programs I am glad we continue to have music.
My son has been attending BFCS since kinder and I have been impressed since day 1. I researched and toured many schools and BFCS made the top of my list for so many reasons. The teachers are excellent and do what they can to make sure your child succeeds. I have seen 1st hand that the school has zero tolerance for bullying. The principal is very involved as well and easy to find/talk to when you need to. The new campus is amazing and I am so thankful we now have a closed and secure campus. The front office staff is very personable and friendly. The curriculum is top notch and my 3rd grader is doing things that a lot of schools don't teach until later on. I look forward to my younger children starting Kinder.
My son has attended BF Crismon for 2 years, and while we were impressed with the first year, this one has been lackluster. The school has moved to a much improved new site, and has brought with it a new principal who seems to lack common sense when it comes to disciplinary issues. While my child is verbally bullied, he is suspended for defending himself while the tormentors disappear into the playground crowd. It's so frustrating and it negates any good academic achievements he makes when he spends so much time away from school. The school does not promote a bully-free culture, and seems to ignore it when it happens. While the academics are above standard, I'd rather have an emotionally healthy happy child.
Benjamin Franklin Charter School Crismon Campus is a wonderful school. My children have been attending for 6 years. The above grade level curriculum keeps the students challenged. The school does not focus on teaching to the standardized tests like most schools. They focus on educating the children. We have had good teachers who really want their students to be successful. I like that they enforce a modest dress code and we are not constantly being asked to sell things for fundraisers. There is daily homework but I believe it only prepares the students for the more rigorous junior and senior high schedules.
MY DAUGHTERS LOVE THIS SCHOOL! WE'VE BEEN AT BEN FRANKLIN CRISMON FOR 4 YRS. THE CURRICULUM IS CHALLENGING & KEEPS OUR KIDS FOCUSED. BTW, in response to the previous comment, "who's Mr. Lee"?? That's not the name of the principal or any of the teachers! Maybe u hv the wrong school.
I am the principal of this school. In response to the previous reviews, I know that our school does not allow people to volunteer in classrooms unless you have a student enrolled. We do not control our population of students. Students are enrolled on a first come-first served basis. Mr. Lee has never been the principal of our school.
We LOVE the Crismon Campus. We have had all great teachers for all of my kids in the 4 years that we have been there. I love how disciplined this school is when it comes to learning. I love the curriculum and feel the teachers are very helpful. I disagree with some of the comments about bullying. I've had a kids bullied on the bus and another in class. I feel the teachers did a fabulous job helping out and making my daughter feel safe in class and on the playground. My son was being bullied on the bus and that did take longer to get taken care of but it did. We are moving and are so sad to be leaving this school. It has been a great experience and we hope to return.
We loved the school when my son started K here. Put him in another charter school for 1st grade because of the distance from home. Didn't care much for Cambridge Academy, so we put our son back in Benjamin Franklin Charter for grades 2 and 3. We moved to New England, where the public education is among the tops in the nation and was happy to see our son adjust well, I believe due to the preparation given to him at BFC. Fortunately no bullying problems and the teachers were fantastic. They also have a great fund raising event and winter concert. Struggle with afterschool enrichment due to parent volunteering. We particularily liked that the school was strict and disciplined and also enforced dress code. This school is not for students who have no discipline and are too casual.
We have loved the Franklin Charter Schools for a very long time- for the very first time in years, this is the first time we have had any problems with a teacher (6th grade)- LOVE the curriculum and the influences (kiddos) around my llittle ones attending- when a teacher is the the main focus in the class room influencing these students, expectations of a "loving" environment needs to commence in all class rooms- When a teacher tells their students they take the joy out of teaching and needing to quit her job because of talkitive students??? WOW. Some students at this age struggle with self esteem as they are entering young adolescent phases don't need to hear such things- I am saddened and the teacher makes the whole difference in each grade- I do not reccomend this teacher to anyone out there- The school itself is wonderful- this teacher needs to find herself a different career-
