Leading Edge Academy is a tuition free public Charter School. We are committed to providing an educational program where each child can reach his/her personal potential. Our staff has a combined experience of 145 years in education (Average: 11 yrs. per teacher). Teachers provide encouragement, respect, patience and understanding for all students. A values-based environment challenges students to grow in personal character. We received a letter grade of B from the state of Arizona for student academic progress for two years running. This is equivalent to the previously earned state label of Highly Performing School. 100% of our 2011-12 5th graders (the highest grade level on this campus) scored MEETS or EXCEEDS on AIMS Reading. Leading Edge is partnering in a 3 yr program with the Center for Student Achievement in their Quality Schools Program. You are welcome to stop by for a visit any time.
Very happy with this school. The staff really cares about your child's education and well being. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone who has a child in Kindergarten to 5th grade. Classroom sizes are small and there is a strong focus on character. My child has gone there since Kindergarten and has loved all of her teachers and her experience at Leading Edge has been wonderful.
I love the Leading Edge Academy at Mountain View. I believe they have some of the best teachers in the entire valley. The classes are typically small, the teachers are well trained, and the staff is welcome and friendly. I am very pleased to have my children attend LEA. Would highly recommend it to anyone in the QC area.
I come from a long line of educators so I am naturally very selective when it comes to my child's education. Though Leading Edge does not have all the bells and whistles that many larger schools have, its educational structure is one of the best I have seen. The teachers at the lower levels are excellent and well deserving of praise. I was concerned with the relationship with the church after having read some of the reviews last year. After looking at things objectively, I found that many of the statements made were misleading, false, and downright malicious. The teachers who have children who do not attend LEA do so because they are older. So naturally they cannot attend! After some research I found that the parents who had concerns about LEA have also had concerns about other schools as well. So disappointing. If you are looking at a school for your child grade K-5 this is the place. It is the most caring and loving place your child could attend to start out their educational experience.
Leading Edge is a wonderful little school! My children have done nothing but thrive there. The Principal and teachers are so concerned with making sure that they are safe, happy and learning. I have never felt more welcome than I do there. I have watched my children grow academically and become wonderful kids of character. I would highly recommend this school to anyone who wants the very best for their children.
Awful! Just plain awful school. It should be daycare at best. Not a school. My daughter was in kinder here for 3 months before a seat opened up at Ben Franklin. She went from reading and writing before starting school to messy and unfinished class work. The teacher was distant and disconnected from the kids. Classroom was crowded and cluttered. No offer for parent involvement. When I asked to come in to volunteer, the teacher told me she had a homeroom parent already. ??? WTH?? There was no room for kids to play at recess. The tiny playground had a permanent plume of dust floating around it.
I had kids in Kinder and 3rd grade at LEA, and we have LOVED our experience. They had the best teachers we have ever had, and really loved school this year. Years prior our 3rd grader attended public school, and there is a world of difference between public school and LEA. I am afraid the school is very underfunded, and therefor lacks programs that I wish my kids could have as they progress in school, but the amazing teachers make up for it. The communication was lacking in several areas, and could use improvement. I really love the way that the teachers seek parent involvement, also. That is something I never had at the other schools my son attended. I felt welcome and appreciated any time I wanted to come to the school for activities.
I wouldn't recommend this school to any family! I thought this school was awesome a couple years ago. Then it got a new principal. Well, from then on that school went down hill! In my opinion it was no longer a safe environment. Kids were being bullied all the time and nothing was being done about it. Rocks being thrown at kids heads among other incidents. I finally had enough after trying to talk with the principal being reassured that things were being taken care of, only to find out that wasn't the case. We pulled our children out, and I am so glad I did!! I will say, that my children both had an AWESOME teacher!! Its a shame their hands are tied when it comes to discipline. I also find it strange, that after a year with a new principal, it seemed almost half the teachers left after the 2011/2012 school year was over! I will be curious how many teachers remain after this year! Such a shame.........
I wish could say my experience was great there, but it was not . It is sad how far behind my kids are on their education. The secretary is really unfriendly, and the school is in need of some serious TLC. The "bells and whistles" matter when students needs extra help. A reading center and a computer center would have really helped my kid last year. As far as the tenant/renter relationship, the Principal is heavily involved in the Church. This might be a great thing for some parents if they are looking for that. Most of the staff do not have their kids attend the school, but that is not my main concern. The lack of quality education is. There Gilbert and Maricopa campus are good, I recommend driving to them, but I would think twice before attending this one.
My son attends LEA and I am fully pleased with his academic progress. His teacher is amazing with the students; as well as has the ability to teach children of all learning types / levels / behavior issues, etc. While I do wish there was a library & a gym for PE/lunches, these are not items that break the deal for me. I know that my son will receive a well rounded education in his coming years at LEA. I recommend this school for parents in the area who are looking for a place that excels in academics, as well as provides Character based learning, and holds a high level of integrity.
My daughter went to this school for the past 5 years. We moved her into the Chandler district this school year and I was nervous to see how she would measure up. Within the first two weeks, all of her teachers asked to move her into honors classes. She has maintained a 4.0 all year and is a member of NJHS. I was thrilled to know that Leading Edge prepared her so well. The facility is lacking some bells and whistles, but the campus is nice, the faculty is fantastic and we had a wonderful experience!
This is church/Charter school with a paster for a principal. While they do follow state standards, they surely find the loopholes and provide only adequacy in education and children's safety! There are some good teachers BUT the school is run by a very close-knit family which happens to be related (by blood) to the folks at the church on campus and as much as they say they are a separate entity, they are not. Your child's education is not their 1st interest. Just ask the staff (or FOUNDER) if their children attend Leading Edge Academy.
Leading Edge Academy Queen Creek is an incredible school. The teachers and principal truly care about the students. While the school does not have all the "bells and whistles" other schools offer, it makes up for it with the qualitly education and caring staff. Leading Edge Academy is by far, the best choice in the Queen Creek/San Tan area.
