Leading Edge Academy is a tuition free public Charter School. We are committed to providing an educational program where each child can reach his/her personal potential. Our staff has a combined experience of 145 years in education (Average: 11 yrs. per teacher). Teachers provide encouragement, respect, patience and understanding for all students. A values-based environment challenges students to grow in personal character. We received a letter grade of B from the state of Arizona for student academic progress for two years running. This is equivalent to the previously earned state label of Highly Performing School. 100% of our 2011-12 5th graders (the highest grade level on this campus) scored MEETS or EXCEEDS on AIMS Reading. Leading Edge is partnering in a 3 yr program with the Center for Student Achievement in their Quality Schools Program. You are welcome to stop by for a visit any time.
I must admit I was absolutely amazed with this school. They have amazing family-like vibes and the teachers/staff are perfect for my children. I hear endless stories from my fourth grade son about how much he loves his class and teachers, as well as many, many others. I recommend this school for anyone if not every. However, the principal here wasn't as friendly towards my son or our family. When engaging with him face to face he seemed stressed, and somewhat rude. He had a tendency of pushing our needs aside and neglecting my daughter's conflict with another child when attention was highly needed. It was disappointing seeing such a poor leader with such an amazing staff.
My child just started their second year at LEA. Once again, he is thrilled to be there and loves going to school everyday. He loves his teacher and his friends there. We are very pleased with Leading Edge and highly recommend it.
I would highly recommend this elementary school. My children have been attending since kindergarten and have experienced great educational success. The small school atmosphere provides a feeling of family and belonging. Students are challenged to be kids of character as well as pushed to be their best in academics. We have no regrets about choosing LEA.
I was homeschooling my children, but had to return to work last spring. My husband and I researched, toured, and interviewed several schools before deciding that Leading Edge was where we wanted our children to go. My kids have really flourished there and this new school year is gearing up to be an amazing one! Mr. Butcher is a fantastic, caring principal who knows my three children by name. Each teacher does a great job staying in touch with us about our children's' daily progress. In our family, we have one struggling learner and one gifted learner. Each are challenged or assisted according to their needs. I appreciate that Leading Edge has resources to help my children to learn and succeed.
Leading Edge Academy has provided my child with a positive learning environment that is challenging and engaging. Emphasis on academics as well as strong character traits is the daily norm here. In the three years my son has attended LEA his teachers have each taken a personal interest in his success and kept my spouse and I informed of his progress, classroom happenings as well as areas of improvement when needed. I have also dealt personally with the school's principal on a discipline issue and found him to be very proactive and fair with both sides of the issue. I am very pleased with my experience with LEA.
Great school. Friendly environment. Small class sizes. Have had children here for over five years.
We are going into year 2 for my children attending LEA and we love it! Our kids have had great teachers and enjoyed going to school each day! I am hoping for more family events this school year! I highly recommend this school!
Leading Edge Academy has been great for our kids. We have four kids in the school and have been there for six years. We have referred countless amounts of families to that school. Our kids were at other schools around Queen Creek in San tan valley before we found Leading Edge Academy. For my living I work with leaders of government and corporations. I seek out the opportunity for my children to have the best education possible to become great leaders. Both leaders and teachers at leading-edge Academy pay close attention to my children and inform me daily and weekly of both advances and potential problems regarding my children. After much diligence and research I have no doubt that Leading Edge Academy is the best school with the best teachers and leaders in Queen Creek and Santan Valley!!
I have had my kids here for 4 years, I have to say my kids love it. The teachers know my kids by name. I pulled them out of a another nearby charter school after a bad experience and the difference in my kids was like night and day. The home work is not too time consuming but it still challenges them. The teachers seem happy in this school and they really seem to love their job. I also feel that they don't nickel and dime you to death like most public and charter schools around this area. I really have no complaints about the school. It is not as fancy as other schools around but the character of the school makes up for that.
Our son transferred here after going to a small private school for 5 yrs - the transition was great! We love the teachers and the class sizes are so nice! I would highly recommend this school to any person who asked about it! They have helped him and recognized problems and have gotten him more extra help then he has ever gotten before! Feel very blessed!
When we moved out here we weren't sure what we were going to do for school. For the rest of the school year we drove our kids back to their old school 15 miles away. During that time we started our youngest at Wonderwise preschool on the Leading Edge campus. After seeing our youngest flourish, we decided she would go there for kindergarten and we would move our son to the campus as well. He started there his fourth grade year. We ABSOLUTELY LOVE this school. The principal knows all the kids by name and is very involved. My son had FANTASTIC fourth and fifth grade teachers and he dug in to do what needed to be done, making straight A's or A's and B's every quarter. Our daughter had a great kindergarten and first grade experience. Parents are always welcome and all of the teachers have been very accessible and quick to respond to any child needs. They also keep us informed through texts and emails about upcoming assignments and tests. I'm very happy that we chose Leading Edge. Our son started this year at the other campus 6th-12th and he loves that campus as well. It's nice to see teachers really care about the kids.
Beware parents. This school is run horribly. The principal is the worst. Half of the teachers are good the other half not so much. Even worst then the principal is their administrative staff (which they call Network) , It is highly unlikely the owner know what shenanigans that go on both in the school and the admin offices in Gilbert.
Leading Edge Academy is absolutely the best school in the area!! The teachers are incredible and they love the students! I read some of the negative reviews and I honestly believe that some people would not be happy anywhere. Please do not focus on the negativity. My children have grown so much academically. They come home from school happy and look forward to the next day. I highly recommend Leading Edge Academy!!!!
This school hurt my children in more ways I can say. Leaving was the best thing I did. I know not every teacher is bad, but it amazing how a few bad apples and a bad office staff can take down a school. I would highly recommend a different school!
This is an awesome school! They are smaller classrooms, which allows the students more one on one time with the teacher. The teachers really do care about their students!
It's been a wonderful change for my second grader. She struggling for a couple years in our local public school and now she made honor roll for the first time. She loves her teacher, I enjoy the staff.
Very happy with this school. The staff really cares about your child's education and well being. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone who has a child in Kindergarten to 5th grade. Classroom sizes are small and there is a strong focus on character. My child has gone there since Kindergarten and has loved all of her teachers and her experience at Leading Edge has been wonderful.
I come from a long line of educators so I am naturally very selective when it comes to my child's education. Though Leading Edge does not have all the bells and whistles that many larger schools have, its educational structure is one of the best I have seen. The teachers at the lower levels are excellent and well deserving of praise. I was concerned with the relationship with the church after having read some of the reviews last year. After looking at things objectively, I found that many of the statements made were misleading, false, and downright malicious. The teachers who have children who do not attend LEA do so because they are older. So naturally they cannot attend! After some research I found that the parents who had concerns about LEA have also had concerns about other schools as well. So disappointing. If you are looking at a school for your child grade K-5 this is the place. It is the most caring and loving place your child could attend to start out their educational experience.
Leading Edge is a wonderful little school! My children have done nothing but thrive there. The Principal and teachers are so concerned with making sure that they are safe, happy and learning. I have never felt more welcome than I do there. I have watched my children grow academically and become wonderful kids of character. I would highly recommend this school to anyone who wants the very best for their children.
Awful! Just plain awful school. It should be daycare at best. Not a school. My daughter was in kinder here for 3 months before a seat opened up at Ben Franklin. She went from reading and writing before starting school to messy and unfinished class work. The teacher was distant and disconnected from the kids. Classroom was crowded and cluttered. No offer for parent involvement. When I asked to come in to volunteer, the teacher told me she had a homeroom parent already. ??? WTH?? There was no room for kids to play at recess. The tiny playground had a permanent plume of dust floating around it.
