As an alumni of San Simon primary , junior high and high school I was able to participate in all aspects of the community, actively be involved in sports and learn things that my peers never heard of " square dancing, baking, welding, drama, music" along with a solid base of academic subjects with a library full of books and a really supportive staff. Although I thought I'd be behind at university I was actually miles ahead because I had already been involved in so many activities that are not available at larger schools. The FFA club for example with Mr. Sipes sponsored amazing events, contests in range management, agriculture and species identification along with opportunities to develop business skills through debates and club and committee memberships. I finished my BA and continued and am now a doctor. Many thinks to SS Longhorns for providing me a solid education.

Good solid education where it's more than academics but the total child they are concerned with. SSS has high expectations and the ability to assist students in meeting them.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Arizona used the Arizona Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) to test students in reading and mathematics in grades 3 through 8 and 10, writing in grades 5, 6, 7, and 10, and in science in grades 4, 8 and 10. AIMS is a standards-based test, which means that it measures how well students have mastered Arizona learning standards. Students must pass the grade 10 AIMS in order to graduate. The goal is for all students to meet or exceed state standards on the test.
