I am a very involved parent! This school is not a Great school but a TERRIBLE school. The teacher turn over is extremely high! The proof is in the school report card at Arizona Dept of education grade C. The husband and wife team makes up different rules as they go... All children are not "equal"... Just because they offer small class sizes DOES NOT mean your child will get an education... Once you remove your child from this school you will see how far behind they are!! Keep away!!!

This school is great and is a great school. If you want your child held to high standards, with good manners being taught, strong academics, and accountability for all, then this is a good choice for your child. If you are looking for a school where your child can get away without doing work, the parents are not asked to be involved in their child's education, or where the staff don't care about your child, then this is the WRONG choice for you. As parents of students at SCDS, we recognize the importance of the role parents need to play in helping their child. When our children make mistakes, we do not blame the school or the staff, we ask how we can help? If only more parents bought into this then we would have more great schools to match with SCDS. Thank you SCDS for EVERYTHING that you do for my children!

We are so happy to have SCDS in our lives. Each child is given extra attention throughout the week and this applies to excelling g students as well. The focus if the school is small class sizes, caring teachers, and a small community where great relationships are formed. Our children are currently on vacation and have been for the last 4 weeks but constantly Tj about their teachers and friends at SCDS which to hear as a parent is so warming. The homework is very reasonable, not hours and hours like other schools we considered. This allows our children to have lives beyond school and not be stressed all the time. We love the balance that SCDS provides our family and can't thank the teachers and admin staff enough!

We have been at SCDS from the start and look forward to many years. The teachers challenge our kids and the administration is supportive.

My family is very disappointed in this school. It looked perfect on paper and during the tour, but the administration is just downright unprofessional. There have just been too many unknowns and mistakes made by them for us to have confidence to leave our children there for the long-term.

I absolutely love teaching at SCDS. The school is extremely supportive of the students and me in anything we may need. The community at SCDS is welcoming and friendly, which makes it a positive place for the students and myself to call our own. Also, we have great support from the other staff members and charter board that allow us to ensure each child is successful at school. I appreciate the small classroom size. Not only can I get to know my students better, but I can also give them the individualized attention they deserve.

It is an honor and such a joy to be a teacher at Scottsdale Country Day School! Some reasons why I love my job are the thoughtful, kind students; the supportive, involved families; the friendly and collaborative staff and colleagues; and the small class sizes that allow me to cater to the strengths and needs of each student. The school culture embraces each student and celebrates their uniqueness, fostering a positive learning community.

SCDS is an amazing school!! The small class sizes (max. 20) allow me to give my students the individualized attention they deserve. The teachers and staff are highly qualified. The atmosphere is warm and engaging, and everyone here wants each and every student to reach their full potential. I am thankful that I can be part of this wonderful learning environment.

Two key strengths that attaracted us to Scottsdale Country Day School are the smaller class size and the higher challenging curriculum. The class size is limited to 20. With this the kids get more attention, guidance, and more effective learning. Also as a result, the teachers can then teach more advanced lessons effectively increasing the standard of the curriculum. Teachers and staff are very knowledgable, friendly, approachable, and basically awesome. The school administration & record keeping needs a little improvement, but they are taking the right steps in that direction. We love the school and would highly recommend it.

We have 3 children at SCDS and couldn't be happier! It is a small school with only 1 class per grade level but we like this. The teachers are amazing and really care about the children they teach. Our children have even cried when they have been unable to go to school due to sickness! As a parent, that speaks volumes. The maximum class size of 20 is almost unbelievable when our local public school has 30-37 students in a class. Like anything in life, things are not always perfect but we have felt comfortable speaking to the teachers and admin when questions or issues have arisen and they dealt with them accordingly. Thank you to all at SCDS for making our children happy and excited about school!

As a teacher and a parent of a PK student, I appreciate the small classroom size and the strong feeling of community at SCDS. The parent participation is incredible and enhances the overall commitment to teaching and learning at this school.

We joined SCDS mid-year after several years at a top-rated Scottsdale Public School. Why we love it: 1) Small class sizes ensure that each child works to his/her own individual level and gets personal attention. 2) Teachers are AWESOME: invested and caring, but still firm. 3) The staff/teachers demand a certain level of behavior from the kids, and the school is small enough that behavior expectations are enforceable. Meanness is simply not acceptable here, and poor behavior is dealt with swiftly, privately and appropriately. 4) Homework is not busywork....the assignments actually make my kids think creatively, so they're more engaged. 5) My kids love it....from the iPad lab to special projects to working on the talent show in music class, everything they do during the school day is purposeful and directed at active learning, and it shows in the kids and their enthusiasm for school. What could improve: Would love to see a more actively involved parent community and a more organized PTO, and I know the school is working on that currently. Overall, we have been tremendously happy here. At SCDS, school is not a grind...what a change to have kids who are excited to go to school!

Academics are good here from what I've seen, as this is our first year at the school. However, be prepared for an unprofessional administration, people who establish policies as they go, which has upset and disrupted several families. As one parent aptly stated, look before you leap. Also ask a lot of questions and get any unclear policies in writing.

Second year at SCDS and remain completely in love with the administration, teachers, and afterschool and enrichment programs. Chinese and Spanish, soccer, dance, art music and amazing academics. Truly all encompassing for a child and balanced. Love this school and recommend it whole heartedly.

After two disappointing years at a Scottsdale public elementary school, and a ton of research on other options in the area, we chose SCDS for our child. We talked with the administration, teachers and parents and everything we learned was very positive. Now our child has started his first year at SCDS and he is back to the happy child he used to be. We especially love that the school differentiates instruction as needed (which our child needs), maintains small class sizes, and focuses on etiquette (which you notice when you meet the other kids at the school). After his first week at his new school, our child said, "This school could change my life. I love it." It already has. We have our happy sweet boy back again and we couldn't be happier.

We are new to the school - my daughter is in the Pre-K program. It is early in the year but so far so good! The kids are safe, doors are locked, and signed in and out. There is music, language and arts and recess/play time. The class sizes are small and you have a chance to get to know the other students and parents. It is a true community of people that care about the education of their kids. The staff has been wonderful and caring. I just know that this is the right place for my daughter and look forward to enjoying many years here.

We are new to SCDS this year - its first year as a charter school. I have a child in 3rd Grade and Miss Miller is outstanding. She is kind and clear with her instruction and my son is very comfortable. The small class size is a tremendous benefit and allows teachers to truly give individualized attention to each child. The school is very much a family centered school. Mr. Steve and Miss Kathy obviously care deeply for the school. It speaks volumes that their own children attend SCDS. My daughter is in the SCDS Pre-K program and loves it! After researching a ton of preschools, I decided on this one because of all the added benefits like Mandarin, Spanish, P.E., and Art. Miss Sudha and Miss Lauren make learning fun!

Oops! We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Public and charter school test scores for most states come from the state Department of Education. The most common reasons we might not have this data are either that not enough students took the test or that the school was recently opened, and its scores have not yet been reported.

Oops! We currently do not have any student information for this school. We rely on the state Department of Education, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), and in some cases school administrators such as registrars and principals for this data.
