I am a retired soldier, teacher and also a sub at Imagine S V. I have no idea about all of these negative comments. It seems there is no middle ground. People either love it or hate it! The parents say the faculty is praising the school and the negatives seem to be from irate parents. Personally, I find it to be a much better than average school. The administrators and office staff go out of their way to help me. The teachers leave clear and comprehensive lesson plans and expect them to be followed. The classrooms are neat and well-organized, and the students are on a structured routine and are ready to learn. The kids seem to be at or above their levels in math and reading skills. In addition to the core curriculum, enrichment classes are also available. Bullying is not tolerated here and trouble-makers are quickly expelled. Except for an occasional case of typical school "drama" I find Imagine S V to be a safe and harmonious place of learning. So a good question for me to ask myself is: "Would I sent my own kids to this school?' The answer is an unequivocal "Yes"! Sincerely, James Bryan
So far, we are very satisfied in this school. My daughter goes here & she loves the teachers. Staff are easy to talk to & very respectful. The teachers communicate with us in terms of our daughter's well being & academic status. Just like the recent comment by a retired soldier, teacher & a sub teacher, this school Imagine Sierra Vista, doesn't tolerate any misbehavior & especially any type of bullying. Academically, the teachers & the administration of Imagine have been working hard to keep the quality of the education of our kids to be at the best. However, we as parents also have to do our part when our kids gets home to monitor them make sure they study & do their homework so they can be successful academically.
I also believe the 5 stars are from staff or people involved at the school.... don't be fooled this place is the worst school in Sierra Vista. Unorganized & unstable.
When we first moved here a few months ago I was going to enroll my 4th grader here but was put off by the office staff and the administrator. They seemed more interested in my paying the multitude of fees that were required before even wanting to talk to my son or find out anything about him. I had some questions on what type of curriculum was followed and the administer couldn't answer basic questions. I left feeling the most important thing to them was getting paid, not what they could do for my son. I would enjoy anything thinking of enrolling in any school to do their homework and find out everything you can about their program, ethics and morals when it comes to meeting the needs of each unique child.
My child always has something positive to say about Imagine School. She loves her teachers and respects her peers. She is constantly telling me about the 6 characteristics that Imagine hold their students, teachers, and staff accountable to - which is why I believe she enjoys being at the school. Additionally, I have always been treated with respect. Any questions I have are addressed in a timely manner. I like that the administration are willing to listen and take into consideration any input I may have. They are a credit to themselves and the institution. Thank you Imagine for truly caring about your students...
Imagine Sierra Vista encourages my children to do well. The faculty and staff are always willing to help. The principal and administration have been very cooperative with my family. I wish I could volunteer more of my time with my children's classes, their teachers are wonderful. There are so many after school clubs and activities my children have so much to choose from. I love the environment and encouragement I hear and see as I watch my children begin their day. I know that my kids are getting the best education in an encouraging atmosphere.
I am very happy with my experience here at Imagine. My kids have lived all over the world and have never been excited to come to school until we started there. My kinder is bringing home some of the most innovative projects ive ever seen! My 5th grader loves her teachers and is always working on projects that combine fun and learning (which is nice becuase she is actually willing to do homework!) My middle schooler loves his teachers and is even being taught Spanish and Technology! They have always worked to resolve any concerns I had. As far as bullying, that is a problem ANYWHERE you go, but the principal and dean of students have enouraged my kids to let them know when there is a problem so they can work to get it resolved becuase they dont always know its happening unless theyre told. Thank you Imagine!
My children have been attending Imagine for 3 years now. I love this school and most important all 4 of my children love this school. They range in grades from Kinder-5th. My children's strengths and weaknesses differ from one another and I have experianced nothing but encouragement from their teachers. Plus I have worked with the middle school teachers and they are a great team! I noticed parents refering to the teacher turn-over. Those turn-overs are helping our school become a better place. We do have teachers who have been there for many years and they are great teachers. We are so NOT "Lord of the Flies". We follow the same bulling procedures as all AZ public schools aswell as Imagine standards. I must admit that I am a parent, I am on the PTO board, and I am a huge volunteer. I support who and what I believe is best.
I am going to pull my child out of this school due to bully issues...your child is not safe here! I am glad to see that many parents feel the same, I felt betrayed. The school simply lacks structure and standards, its "lord of the flies" at this school. Kids do whatever they want to other kids and get away with it over and over again.
This school has to be the worst in Sierra Vista, AZ. I pulled my child out of this school last year after it was blatantly obvious that she was way behind other children her age that attended other schools in the area. There is no oversight on how they teach your child and when you complain, they don't even take the time to listen to you.
This school is a disaster. And I am quite convinced that the "good" comments are from the school staff themselves. Everyone in Sierra Vista knows this is the worst school of the area by far. Do not be fooled by the flashy website. They market well they just don't teach well or give a good example to the students. This Charter school is all about business and your children are simply a means to that end. The turn-over on teachers and students is excessive. The academic curriculum is simplistic and unchalleging due to the poor quality in staff and leadership. Avoid this school if you love your kids.
We moved from the Mesa Public Schools last year and my children both maintained Honor Roll and Principal's list. They were also involved in athletics - basketball, baseball, softball, and volleyball; and other extra-curricular activities. My son is an introvert, but was able to come out of his shell and make new friends. The teachers have motivated my children to excel and become independent thinkers. The principal has great confidence and enthusiasm for this school. The staff are friendly and willing to help when needed. I support Imagine in its efforts to maintain a high quality education and caring environment.
I recommend never letting your child be subject to the subpar teaching that is going on here. My child was so far behind after being enrolled in this school that we had to get a tutor for her to catch up. Also, the staff is very unresponsive to bullying issues that take place on school grounds. We almost had to get the police involved for them to take action on a problem my daughter had with a bully. Our recommendation is "any school but this one!"
By far the worst school in Sierra Vista. My son was a straight A student until he spent a year at Imagine. There is a high teacher turn-over which effects not only the stability of the students but the consistency in the curriculum. The teachers that are retained are of low quality and lack motivation. The principal is by far the weakest link in this failing school. The school just seems to "get by" with minimal effort by the staff and with no significant improvments to your child's education.
This school was a complete joke. After pulling my child out of this school due to bullying issues, he had to attend summer school just to catch up with his grade level. Also the principal was the most unprofessional individual I've ever come across in a school system. This school gets an F- in my opinion.
We also left this school because it does not have a cleaning staff. Parents are not allowed in the bathroom, but if you volunteer and look in the bathroom , you will be disgusted. They were warned a day in advance about an inspection, and were frantically cleaning. Please research this school thoroughly. It was a very sad experience for our family.
After leaving the area public schools and enrolling my child in this school I was quite shocked at the lack of programs and facilities. We had come from a public school that had computer labs and now it is rare the my child ever touches a computer. Our former public school had more opportunities for learning and supplemental programs than we have experienced here. I will be re-enrolling my child back into the public school system for next school year. We found the class sizes to be comparable anyway and not much difference in behavioral issues, plus the dress code hasn't been enforced here either.
This is my daughters 3rd year at Imagine. Dr. Snyder does well with the students. He attends every school function. He's addressed every concern we've brought to his attention. He sat down with my husband and I for an hour to hear what we had to say. He even joined us in parent teacher conferences to help communicate with the teacher. He offerend great advice and helped develop a plan for my daughter without lowering the bar . He listened to what we wanted and created a plan specifically for her. The front office staff is very friendly and wondeful!. The teachers are great. Yes, there is a waiting list for buses. The curriculim is much higher than the public schools. My daughter attend public school for 1 year and was ahead. She is learning at the same level as my step-son who is a grade higher in KS.
I have a Kindergartner who is taking K for the second time. I put him in there becuase of all the good things I had heard about Imagine. It is a good school although I think the student teacher ratio could be better and dont plan on a bus. The wait list is long and chances are they dont stop in your neighborhood but with only 2 complaints I will say that my sons teacher is great and I love the staff.
This is the first year my children have been at Imagine. I find that this school is ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! I have read some posts saying that the curriculum is far behind the public school systems... I have to disagree. My kids are in 6th and 8th and I have found they continue to learn far beyond what they learned at the Mesa public schools and with eagerness. They have been involved in many school projects and enjoy what they are learning. My daughter absolutely loves the school. I have never seen her as excited to learn, especially the science program. Both my children continue to maintain A's and B's, like they did in Mesa. The front office staff are amazing! I see amazing potential for the school. The teachers go above and beyond for our children and I appreciate everything they do. Keep up the EXCELLENT work!
