Great parents, great community and great teachers. Love this school and what they do for our kids.
The teachers and all the staff are wonderful my two boys love it there great resources
Wonderful friendly staff and teachers. PTSA seems really active in getting families involved and engaged. Front office staff very welcoming and warm.
My son went here for Kindergarten and First Grade. He LOVED it! The kids are all good kids and the teachers really care. I would definitely recommend this school if you are in the area!
My daughter broke her foot and one of the office managers helped her around school in tell she got better. My son actually got mad and walked out of his class and they helped him and helped diagnose him with bi-poler disorter
I have interned in this school and the staff really care about the children who attend this school. As a future teacher I would love to work in such a wonderful environment. Tami
My children were moved from Sonoran Heights to Countryside-what a great improvement! The principal is accesable amd the teachers are great. My child went from performing to excelling!
I too, am joining the ever growing group of unhappy parents with this school. Communication is the worst. My son started struggeling towards the end of the year, I tried to get help with the counselor, never got an email returned. Went in personally, was rushed she was 'so' busy. Signed my son up for special leadership group to help with his peer struggles, only to have them cancelled almost all year long he got to attend maybe 3. Subs came in a lot, ending up @ the end of the year a perm subs. No consistancy, and to end the year, 25.00 yearbook & my sons pic is not there not even a mention of his name like most yearbooks do if someone is not pictured. I had no notice that they did not have a pic, which is amazing b/c, I have the pic on my wall!
This school's teachers and staff really do not care about their students. We have made attempts at contacting teachers so that we may help our children with not return call or email. The Principal and Vice Principal do not return phone calls. Our son played on the b-ball team and during their sports banquet, which recognized team member participation, he did not get a certificate; huge oversight and let down to him. The teacher have the 'its only a job' mentality and do not trully care about education and their students academic achievement. This school is not here for the students. It is poorly run and needs new staff.....
With the district changing the school boundaries, my daughters had to attend Parkview. I am so dissatisfied with the Parkview staff, teachers, and Vice Principal. I left two messages for the VP & asked for a call back, Ms. Cruz never returned my calls. Ms. Cruz was also suppose to meet with my child after school & never showed up! I already filled out the open enrollment applications for my daughters to attend Countryside; they attended for almost 4 years before the boundary changes. I am so happy with this school (Countryside)! The teachers, staff, Principal & Vice Principal are so involved with the students and care about their well being and education. I can't wait for my daughters to attend Countryside again :)
My students have been at COuntryside for the last six years. It has gotten better and better each year. The principal, Janet Korinek, cares about the safety and education of my children. They are honor roll and principal's list student! We need more parent involvement!
The school personnel will never give the same answer to the same question. The office staff is rude and incompetent and the teachers are mediocre
Countryside is a great school. Yes, they have a high student to teacher ratio, however is that their choice? Teacher's make the best of what they have. It's not easy being a teacher, and parental support is extremely important. Please, as a parent, work with your child, stay involved, that is your job. The teacher's and administration are doing the best that they can do.
My children attend Countryside and I think that the school has come a long way. They do have a strict policy in place for bullying and I do believe they adhere to the 'no tolerance' belief. The teachers are caring and seem to know most of the student body. They always smile and say hello and have offered help when needed. The office staff has always been very helpful and nice and will try to find answers to questions if they do not know. I believe AZ schools are struggling with low budgets and over crowded classrooms and I commend the school on how well they take it all in stride and provide a good education for the kids.
Communication with the staff/teachers at Countryside is very poor. There seems to be a bullying problem. Teacher to child ratio is to much about 24 kids to each brand new teacher. Many of the key concepts of math/reading get overlooked and students just get pushed thru. Many of the teachers are changed out throughout the year making stability/routine a major issue. I believe the rating is more like a 2 not 4. I will be changing schools next year.
We love this school. The teachers have high expectations for students. The staff listen to what parents have to say. The administration is working to get everyone involved. Our daughter has many friends. We get a lot of information in writing and by phone from the school. I just wish parents would become more involved in helping to solve problems instead of always complaining about what is wrong without offering any suggestions to fix the problems. I've been at schools where there are always parents helping out everywhere. Here it seems like parents just want to be in the classroom. No one, other than staff, ever help out in the cafeteria or on the playground. There is a parent group now that is working to get things done. With the limited funding AZ provides schools, Countryside is doing an amazing job!
July 2006. We moved here from CT one year ago where they are known for top notch education. Not to our surprise, we found Countryside overcrowded but the teachers very positive and enthusiast. The ratio of student to teacher are still extremely high and we did not receive reminders or notices in a timely fashion. But when needed, my son received help with reading help from the special education dept promptly. We constantly communicated with his teacher and the special ed dept as opposed to his CT teacher who never bothered. What's worse a growing school district who is struggling or an overpaid teacher waiting for retirement and a fat pension? I would take a growing school district and help it grow as much as I could. As a working parent, I support these hard working, underpaid teachers, they have the hardest jobs in AZ.
This is a poor excuse for a middle school. There are not enough teachers. No french or spanish is offered. This school is terrible.
Coutryside hs been a very good learning environment for my child. Friendly staff, good kids
My children attended Countryside and overall I was not pleased with the level of education nor the supervision given to the students there. The teachers with whom I came in contact did not seem to be interested in the students education and that attitude was contagious among other students. Unless the extended day program has had a major overhaul, it stands to be the worst afterschool program I have ever experienced. I would drive my children across town and into a different district to avoid this school in the future.
