My daughter has been at this school for about 3 years now; the beginning of this year I had some concerns because there was some transition with the teaching staff in her grade and I was becoming very frustrated. However I was very pleasantly surprised when the principal of the school took time out of his day to help her in math! He was so great and she left feeling happy and confident about the material. He truly cares about his students and I feel he went above and beyond for my child. They have a permanent staff for her grade now and everything is going really well. Cimarron Springs is a great school!
We have been at CSES since my oldest started Kindergarten four and a half years ago and now my youngest is in first grade there as well. We absolutely love the teachers we have been blessed with through the years and my girls are growing, learning and thriving. Both have been recognized for their above average academics and have been tested, challenged and engaged accordingly. The gifted specialist is amazing and really out for the best interest of the children. We have not encountered any major problems in our time there. Being a pro-active parent really helps.
I brought my children here from another school in Dysart. They were continually harassed and bullied. The teachers here have already taught more in the past few months than what they had learned the past year at ____. Teachers respond very promptly as does the principal. He is always there welcoming us when we drop off our children in the morning. They say he is "cool" but I only spoken to him with one concern regarding my son being teased and the problem was taken care of.
As an investor new to the area, I find that searching comments from parents on the local schools is critical to my investing wisely. I want to own homes where the parents are happy with their local schools, otherwise, I don't invest there. It is critical to the whole neighbourhood that the schools administration be leaders in the community, run a tight ship, deal with bullying especially as it spills out into the community. Get your act together so that the neighbourhood doesn't crumble around you. For now, I'll opt out of this neighbourhood.
Cimarron Springs should be rated 1 star at best. Bullying is an extreme issue here and the Administration does not take it serious enough. Teachers have been reported for allowing disruptive students in class to carry on with their bad behavior without being disciplined. Outside of school teachers have told me they have watched the 8th grade class move on year after year with the same problematic children only getting worse and worse. I finally withdrew my son after months of torture, harassment, and being attacked nonstop by the same group of boys. MANY chances were given to the school only to have them FAIL time after time.
I have 3 kids in the school and all the teachers and staff have always been so helpful and very polite!
They have great teachers who are very caring and willing to try anything to help their students learn! My Kindergarten son is very advanced and they try to work with him on his level while still getting him involved with his class.
Funny how glowing reviews seem to pour in after several parents express the problems they have had with this school. Click the 'Test Scores' link for this school before deciding to send or keep your children in this school. 8th graders are testing below the state average in reading, science, and math. No improvement in writing scores for 3 years. Even worse, the trend for 8th grader testing is downward over the past several years. This is not progress. This school is headed the wrong direction. (Now wait for more glowing reviews from defensive staff)
The staff has been professional and courteous. Our son's kindergarten teacher-Mrs. Fleming is wonderful and we could not have asked for any better. As owners of a pediatric development company, we are very involved our both of our boys' education and feel fortunate that they attend Cimarron Springs. greatschools.org's mission statement: 'Involved Parents. Successful Kids.' is so true. Many parents expect their child's school to raise them rather than compliment what they teach as parents.
I believe the administration needs to be more proactive with discipline issues and deal with them quickly and firmly. Back those teachers up so they can teach students who are ready to learn and remove the problems when necessary.
My daughter started Kindergarten '07-'08 school year and had Mrs. Boehlert as her teacher. I have to tell you that Mrs. Boehlert is a wonderful teacher and did wonderful things for her students. If your son/daughter has her for a teacher, you won't be disappointed. We love it at Cimarron.
A++ Kindergarten Experience! We could not have dreamed of a better, more fulfilling beginning to the educational journey!
To the parents who constantly blame schools, home school them! Take responsibility for your child's education and stop complaining. Cimarron Springs Elementary is a great school! My experience with the school's administration and staff has been positive, and I find the staff to be polite and professional. The people who complain the most about situations are usually the ones who aren't involved, and they want to blame the school for refusing to 'parent' their child. NCLB has placed too much accountability on the schools, and has given parent's a 'pass' on continuing to be the first and primary educators of their children.
If you have a choice and the ability to send your children to a school other than this one, do it! I could write a novel, but in short, the school has a bullying problem that the principle does not adequately address. Most of the teachers are good, but if you do have difficulties with a particular teacher, don't expect an unbiased investigation by the school administration. It is almost humorous to me to see some of the glowing reviews of this school posted here, that also lambast parents for everything and anything. It is obvious that some of the postings on this board are shills for this school.
The education system at this school is great but the staff professionalism is at a all time low. The teachers don't communicate with the parents and the parent pickup system is horrible. The school needs to take time out to fix these problems. Thanks!
I hated this school. The principle is all talk and did nothing worth meantioning. The school has disiplinary issues, and some downright terrible teachers. There are so many schools in this district that you could send your child to. Please, spare them and don't send them to this one.
It is true that AZ ranks at the bootom in education and Dysart is an ever growing district that being said Cimarron Springs is ranked as a Highly Performing School. and trust me it is worth that ranking. They truly go above and beyond!!! All of the things that happened in the past are over. And by the way where are all of you during PTO meetings, Conferences and why aren't you volunteering to help make this school even better???
As the 2006-2007 school year ends at Cimarron Springs, I still feel third grade Mrs. Davidsons class is spectacular! My son has really learned so much this year it is unbelievable! He is above grade level in all subjects, completed his first research paper, and has multiplication facts learned hands down! My son enjoys school and homework is done in 15 minutes a night! No complaints at this grade level. My daughter in 7th is an honor student and I hope this year hasn't set her back to much.
My three children attend Cimarron and love it. I feel they are in a safe, secure environment and learn more than I expected. As second graders, they began learning to create power point presentations and now my seventh grader can use a wide variety of multimedia tools. I feel comfortable speaking to any of their teachers for any reason and have on occasion sat in on a class. This staff is extremely professional and works hard to meet the needs of our children. I am thankful my kids are here.
