We have been parents of Bustoz students for the past 6 yrs. It has always been a wonderful enviroment for learning. We, as parents, have always voluntereed our time and money for each & every fundraiser, carnival, teacher appreciation, showcase of learning, etc.. This year a new principal came to our school and things started changing. We felt we needed to voice our concerns to him. He decided we were troublemakers. I thought we at least had the respect of the staff, but we didn't. After 6 years of building a relationship with the staff at Bustoz I guess they decided to support their principal. We feel very sad that it has ended this way, but this has been a very eye-opening experience for us. Hopefully we can learn from this.
This school is a godsend. My son has behavior issues that required my husband to attend kindergarten with him nearly full-time. We switched schools and, though the behavior did not go away, it's been greatly reduced. I'm so sad that they're trying to close it. If we cannot stop it, my husband and I will be applying for a boundary exception because I do not think the other school is as good.
This school excellent!! Extremely pleased with the staff and the education they are providing. My daughter has blossomed in all areas since attending this school. For those of you who are not aware, Tempe is trying to close this school due to budget cuts. Please do everything in your power to have your voice heard and keep this school open.
Great School... I have driven my daughter 20 miles one way to this school for the last 2 years. My daughter went from hardly passing the 1st Grade (in a different school) we Moved her Bustoz and now she is at the head of her class. The staff is very friendly, and caring. Every staff member knows my daughter by name and knows my husband and I by name. The Administrative Staff is outstanding. The Principal is very involved in the daily lives of each Student. A lot of parent involvement in this school...Parents are very friendly. Great PTSO...The list of compliments for Bustoz, the Staff, Students and Parents can go on for a long time...Very Good School!
I have driven my son to Bustoz from another district for four years and will continue to do so for as long as he is in elementary school. I love Bustoz for so many reasons. It is a multi-cultural school, welcoming children from around the world. It's a multi-intelligence school with a curriculum that is educational for all levels of learning, special education to excelling education. It's PACE program is beyond my expectations! It's staff is nurturing and caring. There are around 300 student, so each staff member know my son and I, which makes me fell that he is safer there than anywhere in the world. I trust Bustoz to educate my son and be a part of his childhood. I urge any parent to do the same!
Great school! Everyone, principal, teachers, front office, nurse, custodial staff, is motivated and caring. This is a mutiple intelligences school so there are lots of different types of activities and a very respectful and inclusive environment. Our son has thrived at Bustoz. We wish we had found it sooner!
Absolutely wonderful school! I enrolled my son out of district and am delighted with the entire staff and students. The principal clearly has the students best interests in mind and the environment is wonderful! I gladly drive my son every day to this school (he is out of home boundary) and love to see his excitement coming home.
My son has attended Bustoz since Kindergarten and is now in the 4th grade. We LOVE this school, the teachers and the administrator. He is challenged and feels comfortable at this school. Everyone down to the School Nurse and the maintenance staff goes that extra mile to care for the kids. Everyday I know that my son is in a safe, challenging and caring learning environment. We open-enroll at Bustoz now(since we moved). This schools is better than any other Tempe Elementary school by a mile!!!!
My son started Kindergarten this year and is excelling beyond my expectations. The office staff is the friendliest staff I have met in the Arizona school system. Not only does my son attend school here, but I have been lucky enough to be aloud to observe classrooms on my quest to become an educator myself. The teachers are teaching from the first bell in the morning to the last bell in the afternoon and they are doing it with passion and excitement. My sons teacher has recognized his need for a more challenging curriculum and has done all she can to help enrich his learning. I was very blessed to have found this school hidden away! I highly recommend any parent to check them out and enroll immediately once you see what I have seen!
Wonderful school. Before my son entered kindergarten, he couldn't recognize letter. By the end of the school year he was reading fluently. The small class sizes and caring attitude of staff members makes a great difference. I'm glad I found this school.
