C I Waggoner School

We love Waggoner school, both my girls go there and they have always felt safe and flourished under the guide of the amazing teachers. Even the crosswalk guard knows and helps my kids.

We thought we had found a great school in Waggoner after researching our options. Unfortunately, we have been very disappointed. Her Kindergarten teacher was nice but totally unorganized and chaos reigned in the classroom. Just when we thought it could not get worse, the teacher mysteriously disappeared and the poor kids had a string of substitutes. Now, there is a less than permanent teacher who still has no control over the class. The parents were given very little information throughout the transitions and, although we meet with the principle several times, we felt our concerns were not listened to. It also appears that this is not the best school for a more advanced child who needs more challenges. Very disappointed!!!!

The old principal was dismissed for harassing co-workers with inappropriate pictures. The current principal shows up to school dressed like she is headed to a disco. This school is not serious about educating children. No parent that loves their child would send them here. The teachers are here for an easy $40K income with benefits. The school needs a whole new administration and teachers.

My grandkids attend Waggoner School and I volunteer there in their classrooms. Great teachers and great students. The teachers have control on behavior and still are caring and helpful.

Great school! The principal and teachers are wonderful! My son went to 2nd grade for 2 weeks after being home schooled for over a year. It was to difficult for him. His birthday comes after the school year starts, so he was one of the younger students. The principal and his teacher recommended we move him to first grade. They handled it so well! I'm blown away...the students in his 2nd grade class made him good bye cards and they even let me bring in cupcakes. They really care how he and his classmates feel about the situation. It's well organized and very comfortable. I can't wait to enroll my kindergartner next year! I have not seen and could not even imagine any racial problems or mean teachers. If there is a problem, I believe it would be swiftly taken care of.

Terrible school. One kindergarten teacher seats "certain" students at a separate table. A second grade teacher humiliates underperforming students in front of the class. This intolerance is unacceptable. There are much more constructive ways to interact with these young children. Some parents are in the classrooms on a daily basis, strongly biasing the teachers towards particular groups of students. Think twice before sending your children to this school!

School has many social problems. Racial intolerance is simply one of them. Many of the teachers belittle certain children. A few of the parents make racist comments quite frequently. Several children have left the school as a result of these social problems.

I have been so impressed with Waggoner! My children love it there. The teachers are phoenominal. I'm not sure where the parent who complained about racial tolerance was coming from....our non-caucasian children have not experienced any intolerance that we are aware of. Overall, this is an outstanding school.

i love it there! i go to Waggoner! all the teachers are really nice! They never yell or are rood to anyone! you should go there too! i'm sure you willlove it there or if you go there i bet you love it!

Waggoner is a wonderful school. The teachers here are awesome and the parent involvment is like nothing I've seen before. This was my son's first year there in kindergarten and boy did he have a shaky start but with his teachers awesome personality and never ending patience he was able to cruise straight throught to the end of the year. I would drive 50 miles just to send my child here and I would recommend this school to any parent on the fence of deciding where to send there child.

Our daughter just began Kindergarten at Waggoner Elementary and we couldn't be more pleased. They are being taught so much and in ways that relate to the children so they retain what they are learning. We adore her teachers Mrs. St Denis and Mrs Joyce, they are just wonderful!

This school is like a private school, but it is public. The reason for the excelling status is the parents. There are so many volunteers that the teachers are supported in what they do both in time and financially. It is awesome!!!

Waggoner is an excellent school with excellent teaching staff. It is located in a nice community where parents are involved with volunteering and directing their child's education. The experience is a positive and safe environment. The school is under the Kyrene School District in the Tempe/Chandler/Phoenix area.

I had numerous children attend for over 6 years - generally it was a good school - this last year was horrible though - we had a 5th grade teacher who contstantly screamed at the students and assigned way too much homework and took away the kids recess - the school seemed to be unwilling to do anything notwithstanding the numerous parental complaints. Additionally, this school really requires a parent to 'keep up with the jones' including clothes and accessories from all the latest fashion outlets.. not unusual to see your 2nd graders in abercrombie and roxy!
