My son went to Tolleson all four years and graduated last year (2012). I thought it was an outstanding school. The principal really cares about the students and the students respect him. The baseball program is outstanding and very competitive.

Could be a better school at academics and sports. Sports aren't that competitive at this school like most schools up North in Arizona.

University High School on the Tolleson campus is taking kids places. My son is a graduate and I would have never sent him anywhere else. Students from this school are going all over the US. Students from University High are being accepted by prestigious schools such as American University, Georgetown, George Washington University, Johns Hopkins, Stanford, Dartmouth, USC, and many others. This school is definitely on the right track!

I attened University High School in the Tolleson Union High School campus, and it is an amazing school. Driven on the power of knowledge, perserverence, and challenge, Univerity High pushes each and everyone of their students to strive for success. Our motto is 'Harnessing the Power of Dreams' , because each student is here attendending this acedemy in order to reach their ultimate dream. This program offers so much and is very benificial. I encourage all parents to encourage their student to apply for this school if they see a bright future ahead of them. Yes, the acedemics here are rigorous, but it is all worth it. I do not regret coming to this school. Its amazing!

I am so excited about what is happening at Tolleson Union High School. Bringing there AIMS scores up to there highest level ever. That shows great commitment on the part of the teaching staff and all your administors working together to better there school. Congrats on being recognized by the State for bringing your scores up. What an honor to be singled out as the school that all schools in the state should be watching and taking example from. That is an awesome honor. Keep up the GREAT work!
My personal opinion about Tolleson is that it's a very good school. I'm a university high student and although it may be difficult at times i still recommend it to others, so that they can push themselves and take risks. Its like a challenge you take for yourself but it is always rewarding at the end. Other then the dress code (which is the most dense rule ever) everything else is pretty good. Overall i like Tolleson a lot.

I love this school. But it needs work in the staff area. I've had many great teachers like Ms. Bray, Ms.Polcovich, and Mr.Ortiz who have inspired me to work very hard. But the main problem this school year is that the school staff seems to have been more worried on 'dress code' understand why the new dress code rule of not having words on our shirts. It's not professional. But making a big fuss about how a 'teenager' (the rebel years) dresses is not not professional either. Having security guards waste their time chasing students that have the logo 'HOLLISTER' on their shirts is ridiculous, they should be monitoring the school and making sure students are safe. That's why they are called Security Guards, to make sure the school is being 'Secured'.

i personally do not like the school. The staff there is very 'because i said so' attitude. They have different views about educating the teens. Power does not always solve all the problems. They need training in that area.

Man University High is only for those dedicated, it is a very challenging program but the reward upon completion is immense, no lie. And to the Freshmen this year good luck this year you will need it!

I loved this school it was the best experiance, of learning the teachers are great and there is so much heritage in the small town that make it a truly wonderful place to go to school. They really try very hard to give the student all that they need to make it in this world. :)
I attend Tolleson in the University High program and this is my first year. I'm pretty young but i took the University High class for a reason. And that reason was to get higher education (advance placement classes). I am smart for a ninth grader and i KNOW that i could do more. Dr.Dean, the principle of University high is really dedicated to teach me. Everytime he talks, he makes me feel confident. This school is amazing.

I really enjoy attending Tolleson Union High School. I actually attend the University High Program that is housed in Tolleson,University High is a collage prep progran for the Tolleson HS Disrtict. UH is a real rigorous program, you must be extremly dedicated to attending collage to succeed in the program. We also attend regular Tolleson High electives with regular Tolleosn Students so we do interact with non U High Students. Tolleson also has a great Marching Band Program which I play the trumpet in and we (the band) went to state last year and hopefully will recieve an Superior this year. So really consider attending Tolleson it is a really great school, just the new strict dress code make the studnets mad. Really think about your dedication and talk to people before you enroll in University High.

I very much enjoy going to Tolleson High School. it is a terrific school. I also attend the University High School (U.H.) progam along with many other sucsessful and talented students. U.H. is a program that is not only difficult but challenging as well. It is full of many surprises but also tprepares us to go on into college more educated on what to expect. Tolleson High School has many great mermories for the students that attend the school. The the teachers are wonderful and push us all to our limits so that we could make something of ourselves. ^-^

Well I love Tolleson because I am very active in this school. I actually attend University High Program whch gives students college prep material. While not being totally excluded from the mainstream school, we still are not really known throughout the school. I am on the cheer squad and aon the track team so its a pretty good school!

If you are attending University High, on the Tollesson campus, this is a great place to be. If not, the main school for students not enrolled in advanced classes is just average. University High and Tolleson are run quite differently. Tolleson has crowded classes and very little spirit among students. Teachers are not dedicated to the students or the school and are often rude. Communication is also an issue. It is hard to get anyone to return phone calls.

My daughter has been attending tolleson since her freshman year, and she is a junior now. tolleson has some great teachers, but every year there are at least two teachers that are not that great. I have had to transfer her out of one class of a bad teacher because she was failing, to another teacher that was awesome, and her grades improved. I also have known some teachers to be less than hones. The AP English program needs alot to be desired, and my daughter has learned little in those classes. On the other hand, the teachers that are great have taught her much, and she has been doing well. The other disappointment is the lack of funds the school has. There are no field trips, or extra activities for the students. It is not a bad school, but my second child will not attend this school.
