Cesar Chavez Middle School

I think that Cesar Chavez is a great school and my kid thinks the world of Mr. Mares. This social studies teacher has inspired my child to become a man and to get involved in the community. Thank you Mr. Mares for all you have done for my child.

I had two children at this school and ended up pulling them out. The school functions way below average. The students are not challenged. When a wonderful teacher would be at the school, it would not be for long. No guidence is offered in preparing the student for a University or applying for scholarships. I would not recommened this school for ANY student who takes education seriously and wishes to continue on to a University.

Cesar Chavez Middle School has 125 students who enjoy and benefit a great deal from the dedicated, creative teachers. The best thing about the school is the project based learning whereby teachers create integrated themes related to the rich Mexican-American culture and history of the students. The students enjoy reading and writing about topics related to their history, culture, art, etc. Trips to Mexico City make the entire learning experience come together in the most meaningful way for all involved. Cesar Chavez Middle School is a powerful and empowering force in the lives of underserved Mexican-American families in South Tucson, Arizona. It is the means to true Chicano Pride through skills learned and values received.
