Develops respect: Disagree

Again, you must be an example of this and most choose to punish rather than take the time to teach.

Unfortunately the Principal has now left the school and she was the greatest example of this to all the children.

I believe the principal showed this at all times. Not always so in the teachers.

A few not so good teachers can make it a bad experience for a lifetime for a child. I understand there are situations that are difficult but the teachers should be trained to handle them so as not to affect other students as well. Do you use corporal punishment or teaching and training our children? Do you treat the child as you would like to be treated? Respect is earned and teachers are included...not just the child. Yelling and degrading a child is not a manner of teaching and redirecting....tell them how they may have handled a situation and not just call a name such as "tattle-tale", etc. Name calling even for teachers is not acceptable! Now he or she is afraid to talk about a bullying situation.

Teacher effectiveness: Somewhat effective
July 22, 2015
Unfortunately too many teachers have a punishment, embarrassment, negative attitude towards many students. I experienced this on a field trip and directly from some teachers. I don't understand that this is about redirecting and positive teaching! Treat the children in a pleasant manner as you expect to be treated. Don't be demeaning! Respect gains respect including to the parents. With M. Ingle gone I choose to take my child out of this school. She was so helpful, always had time and spoke to the children in a teaching and positive manner!

We have attended Gale since kindergarten and my child is in 3rd grade. it has had its up and downs this year with principal change, fundraisers changed, etc. My daughter is happy for the most part but the lack of communication, notice given, and follow up frustrates me. It has slowly gotten better throughout the year but there is still progress to be made. Most of the teachers are wonderful for the lack of resources they have. We have had great teachers over the years, this year was a bit of a let down. The PTC board seems to be their own click, have their own agenda and does not do what benefits the school as a whole, just the select amount of them. I was told by one board member, if htey are the ones doing the volunteering, then it should be what is best for them, "as they do the most for the school". Many parents, because of the mentality of this board, have chosen to not be active with events and fundraisers, but just as volunteers in class rooms and field trips. The overall attitude of the school has changed, not for the better. This is our home school and we will stick with it, but hoping for positive changes to come!

My grandson goes to pre- school at Gale. I was impressed with the new student/parent orientation and how attention there was. My grandson looks forward to school each day and is proud of his take home work. He was developmently behind but I see great strides and improvments. He still has a way to go but I confident he'll be ready for what lies ahead.

Gale elemtary is an excellent school. The new principal was given a lot of change without much notice. She has risen to the occasion and introduced the OMA program and has hired a new PE teacher. The teachers are outstanding and offer an excellent education.

Gale Elementary is absolutely wonderful!! I am so pleased with the new administration, teachers and facility! I really enjoy the new principal and look forward to seeing what the year will bring. Both my children wake up every morning extremely excited to be going to school and wonder why they are unable to go every day, including weekends!! I As a parent, my ONLY concern is my children's happiness and if they enjoy learning! Gale has provided the love of learning to my children in a very special way!

I love Gale!!! This is my daughters 3rd year at Gale. The teachers and the principal are very involved. The PTC is great and everyone works hard to provide a great learning environment. You can be as involved as a parent as you would like and all the teachers I have had so far have an open door policy and encourage the involvement of the parents. I am glad my daughter attends gale and I wish I would have know about Gale when my oldest daughter was in elementary.

We are so impressed so far with Gale! My son is in Kinder with Ms Schlak and loves her so much! The principle is awesome too. She will answer any and all questions you have and will respond promptly to emails. It is amazing that this school is able to function as well as it does with the madness that is TUSD. The parent involvement is also high at this school. I have high hopes that my son will continue to do well in this high expectations/excelling school!

Due to the unbeatable staff, including, but not limited to, the teachers and prinicpal, we will always stay loyal to Gale. The PE, Music, and Art programs made possible through parent fundraising help to make our school special. We are so in love with Gale and the learning, caring, safe environment that we have passed up on sending our children to the 'college prep' elementaries in town. It's the best bet for an all-around quality education.

Gale is a wonderful school with very dedicated teachers. The test scores prove how dedicated these teachers are! the principal & office staff go above and beyond what is expected of them. Gale has many many programs, including art, music, pe and staffing the library that are all made available by the the fundraisers at gale. Without the parent participation which is extremly high, gale students would not have as many wonderful opportunities.

Gale is great school for sure. Paula Godfrey, the principal is a true leader and the teachers that my children have had, do a wonderful job in educating them. I love that they have fine arts here as well. They have music and art and P.E. also. The art teacher is an actual artist and the artwork of many students is displayed all around the school. It is an excelling school and they work hard to maintain that rating. I would highly recommend this school to anyone looking in this area.

Gale is an excellent school. The Principal never ceases to amaze me, she seems to know every kid by name, always greets others with genuine care and concern and is very involved in each childs education. The staff are fantastic, teachers are warm and nurturing, yet expect good behavior and push kids to do their best. I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of education my children are recieving, that they are being challenged and are excited about the things they are learning.

Gale Elementary is a wonderful school. The teachers are kind, courteous, and always helpful. State standards are taught in creative ways, allowing children with all learning styles to succeed. The principal is firm but fair in dealing with discipline issues. I am so pleased that my child attends Gale, he is getting the best possible education.

Gale actually had the distinction of being one of only two schools out of the largest Tucson school district to be labelled 'Excelling.' Much is owed to good principal leadership, highly qualified and capable teachers that the students love and very high levels of parent involvement. Academically, they are always at the top of the list of test scores in the district. Visible parent involvement is actually the highest in all the schools we looked at across Tucson. Over 5000 volunteer hours logged last year. Excellent librarian and emphasis on reading skills. PTA supported art teacher and program are unsurpassed in Tucson. Amazing student art is displayed everywhere and and winning awards, too! The students art is actually integrated into the school building as well. If you are looking for a great academically achieving school, with fantastic art programs, reading and parent pasrticipation levels, Gale Elementary more than fits the bill.

Gale Elementary is a wonderful school! The staff at Gale are incredible, from the principal, teachers, custodians, office staff, cafeteria personnel, and everyone else, you won't find a finer and more involved, student-oriented school. They are hard-working, friendly, and dedicated to seeing each child achieve. There is strong support from parent and community volunteers. The curriculum is challenging and provided in a learning atmosphere. Test scores at this school have been consistently outstanding, a direct reflection of the staff at Gale. The library and art programs (and their staff) are exceptional; extremely knowledgable and very involved in classroom activities. Resource staff and programs for special education students are excellent, and committed to the success of each student's needs. Great Project Able pre-school program.

I have two children enrolled in Gale currently. They are in 5th and K. I am extremely impressed with the school's resources due to the PTC. However, I have had some 'religion in the classroom' issues that I did not feel were addressed adaquately.

I am a mother of 3 boys who attend Gale. This is our 1st year here. We are very glad we are at Gale. We came from Dunham where it just ws lacking that special touch of LOVE: What a difference in their attitudes and not being a bully. I am very thankful for the teachers and staff of Gale. They welcomed us with open arms. The office staff is very sweet and friendly. Unlike where we came from. I love Gale. Thank you Teachers & staff for all your wonderful works and seeds you are planting in our childrens lifes. We love the awesome oppertunities Gale offer's our children and their parents to be apart of. And how wonderful the teachers are by making the children apart of everything they do. As a parent who works and not available i still am in contact via email daily.
