Most teachers go above and beyond for the children. The principal is okay, the assistant principal is fabulous. My only complaint is the lady counselor is a little unprofessional, and the test scores make the school look bad even though it isn't (if you understand how the stats work, which doesn't make sense).

I am NOT impressed with this school. There is lack of test scores. Too many gangs and fights are happening. This needs to be fixed.

The principal is the Greatest! I feel all teachers should be required to have the love and logic classes to help their students.

My daughter's teachers varied greatly on Homework and excersises. Her Language arts teacher did a tremendous job in preparing her for high school, etc., by giving her assignments that would be expected at a high school level, assignments due almosts daily, always keeping students busy while other teachers did not give homework, only by classroom instruction, watched many movies. Two field trips were given which I believe should include more, this gives students better insights of goings on in our world that they would not have known otherwise due to economic class in the community. No books are given to students to go home making homework review difficult, especially in math, all were shared by each classroom of 25 + students.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Arizona used the Arizona Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) to test students in reading and mathematics in grades 3 through 8 and 10, writing in grades 5, 6, 7, and 10, and in science in grades 4, 8 and 10. AIMS is a standards-based test, which means that it measures how well students have mastered Arizona learning standards. Students must pass the grade 10 AIMS in order to graduate. The goal is for all students to meet or exceed state standards on the test.
