I heard good things about this school. I heard the population was small. I heard that the atmosphere was positive. Well I guess that was until 2009/2010 school year. This year the school opened up enrollment to go from 60 6th graders to 150 6th graders. I guess the increase in population is overwhelming, causing teachers to not pay attention in class to those students constantly being picked on. I ve address this several times with the administration and NOTHING has been done. They keep promising something will be done, but the picking continues. Oh, it s not just being picked on, there has been hitting too. If the administration wants to be the story behind the next Dangerous Minds movie, then they are headed in the right direction.
My Child attend Roskruge the last three years. I would really recommend this school. The atmosphere is very positive for learning.
My child is enrolled in this school. They have a positive attitude and a great curriculum. I had the opportunity to volunteer and the teaching methods used are adequate. They have a great afterschool program as well and care is exceptional. It is great to see a bilingual school that really cares what a child learns.
My child was enrolled at this school for the first quarter. I would not reccomend this school. The school administrator and assistant administrator are not performing their duties. This is a magnet school that specializes in bilingual education. My experience was that the school did not so much teach spanish as a second langauge but taught classes in spanish to the majority of spanish speaking students. This in itself was very misleading. I was under the impression that spanish was being taught as a second language but whats happening is that Instead of enrolling students in english emersion classes students are being sent to Roskruge where they are taught in spanish. The test scores aren't impressive. The assistant principal explained to me that the reason for that was due to the large amount of students that only spoke spanish. If this school were under another administration It might possibly become a better school
