Reviews, I hate them. Everyone has different opinions and it seems as if the negative write the most. St. Cyril School is a learning environment that is not right for everyone. Boys and girls accell there. Some boys and girls do not. The school does require students to take responsibility for their learning. This means writing down homework, turning it in on time, following through with class projects and being a responsible citizen. They do a good job of this. I have to say though, the parents there are demanding and think their children are perfect. In my 10 years there, I have see a tremendous change in parents. So if you are a parent that does not value your child working hard, following through and taking responsibility for their learning, then this is probably not the school for you. I have children who want to excel...I know St. Cyril has produced some pretty fine graduates. I want my child to be classified as one of those graduates.
St. Cyril School is a school that requires student to take responsibility for their learning. I am sooo grateful my children have and still go to St. Cyril. When they graduated, they knew how to study and be a part of a community. When they got to high school, it was easy for them. As a matter of fact, my son would would credit his education at St. cyril to his success in high school and college. I am a firm believer grade school is the foundation for all schooling. You could not find a better school in Tucson for all round preparedness for a student.
WHAT A WONDERFUL SCHOOL!! I am the father of a daughter who graduated 4 years ago and a son who currently attends. Both of my children received an exceptional education with a strong emphasis of both academics and Catechism. I found most of the teachers to be fantastic. They display a genuine interest in all their students. Expectations were structured and rigorous, but these were primary reasons my wife and i had for sending our children to a private school. I understand that not every child will do well in this kind of an environment, but I know that the formula has been successful for my family. It has worked for many other families as well. St Cyrils was a National Blue Ribbon School and it consistently sends more than 90% of their 8th grade students to Salpointe Catholic High School. I would definitely recommend this school to any parent who
Fantastic people teaching well behaved, interesting, fun kids... This school has produced astronauts, valedectorians at harvard, ncaa hoop champs, and is the dominant school sending students to salpointe
The following are our opinions: We would definitely not recommend this school. Our children attended St Cyril for many years. We feel that the school does not foster learning in a positive way. If you are seeking a positive Christian/Catholic environment where your child will be motivated to learn and thrive, we feel that placing your child here would not be an intelligent choice. As a practicing Catholic, I'm sad to say that my children have experienced more compassion, kindness and Christian behavior at their public schools than they ever received at St Cyril. Please spare your child and yourself the pain, the expense and the disappointment that were the end result when our children attended St Cyril. Best of Luck selecting a wonderful school for your child.
Our family has found St. Cyril to be a rigid environment and unless your child learns their way they will not survive there. There is very little room for adapting to the child's needs.
Two grades are integrated together and teachers are not aware of what is going on with each child...too many children to deal with.A lot of grading is done by the school pal....and not by the teachers. would advise you attend a school with smaller clases. Too much emphasis in the child being able to make all of their own choices.
