The school does the minimum to help your child with any special needs. There is a lot of flip flopping around with teachers. Class sizes are way too big. This year we have a new principal, maybe she can bring more stability to the school.

If your child has to any special needs, ADHD, reading difficulties etc. I find Painted Sky offers a little help in this area but not enough to make a difference. I have found a few teachers that are caring. The principal is nice but not flexible in moving children out of a Teachers class when it is not a good match for the child.

My child is in Kindergarten and this is an excellent school. The class sizes are small, the classrooms have new technology and are clean. My child is performing work at a first grade level already.

This is a solid school. The extra activities (band) are well supported by the families. Kindergarten is currently 1/2 day but will move to full day.

The teachers are all highly qualified and really care about their students' success. The extracurriculuar programs are great. The school embraces the parent involvement.

There is a high level of parent involvement at Painted Sky Elementary. My son started playing the trumpet twice a week in their Band Program and he loves it and has excelled doing it. We have had our oldest son at Painted Sky since August 2000 and have been extremely happy with the education he is receiving. The teachers are excellent.

I think the teachers are great, they have challenged my children to do their best. They are willing to help when there is a need in the childs progress. Security at the school is high. The classrooms are large but I see that more as an Arizona problem not a Painted S. problem.

This school is overcrowded, but the teachers are talented and have great attitudes.

Great kindergarten teachers and top notch parent involvement. There were so many parents volunteering that there you had to sign up early for the days of the month to make sure you got a spot.

It is getting too overcrowded. Another school in the area or rezoning is needed to keep up with the massive development in the area.

Over all I feel Painted Sky is a great school. The Principal is a great leader who has caring qualities. The kids are happy and challenged. There four grade teachers are the best around.

Teacher vs child ratio is to high. My daughter had 28 children in her class. Other classes have even more children.

This is our first year at Painted Sky and I would like to find out the names of good teachers (all grades, esp. K and 3rd). I would also like feedback from parents about the amount of homework assigned and whether they think it's challenging or not. Thanks!

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Arizona used the Arizona Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) to test students in reading and mathematics in grades 3 through 8 and 10, writing in grades 5, 6, 7, and 10, and in science in grades 4, 8 and 10. GreatSchools' profiles currently show AIMS mathematics, reading and writing results. 2013 AIMS grade 10 results represent on-track 10th graders for the 2013 test year. AIMS is a standards-based test, which means that it measures how well students have mastered Arizona learning standards. Students must pass the grade 10 AIMS in order to graduate. The goal is for all students to meet or exceed state standards on the test.
