I absolutely adored this school! I'm currently in 9th grade and I attended 8th grade, I didn't even want to leave, the teachers and students are so welcoming I really do recommended this school for everyone.
My child will not be going to this school in the fall. There were repeated bullying episodes that were not adequately dealt with by the principal. If the school is understaffed at recess and lunch-time, why not put a call out for volunteers? But the principal did not seem to be interested in finding a solution to an ongoing problem.

I love this school.. my daughter had been in this school for two years now and I am very impressed with her development. The teachers are so focused with their student's progress and they make it a point that parents are involved as well. They have a really good principal who shows leadership and good interaction with his students and their parents. The organizes a lot of activities that helps the children not only academically but also improve their self-confidence as well as encourage family bonding...

My mother always taught me if you have nothing nice to say dont say anything at all. Well, here is my review.........................The end.

I have had more than one child at this school for several years, from kinder on up. Everything depends on the teachers interaction with the students. The elemantary grades are great and most likely one of the best around. The upper grades however, have much to be desired. There are teachers at this level that are not fit to be in a classroom with children. They really do seem like a group that could not make it in the mainstream so they ended up here. I can only guess that in a school with a better administration the teachers would not be allowed to behave in the manner they do.

Amerischools has been a great school for my child. I am able to volunteer in my child's classroom frequently so I see how this school functions. The teachers and principal here are friendly and are always smiling. You can tell that the students like to be at school. I am very happy with my child's (and my own) experience at Amerischools.

This school has a leadership that is afraid to stand up for the students, or does not have the power to- do so. It seems he is simply the mouth piece of a higher entity , as though the charter board at this school does not trust him to make choices that are best for the students. . The teachers here are allowed to treat students with complete disrespect, name calling and demeaning a student. The students are not allowed any free thinking. The academics have suffered as the school coaches right before AIMS in order to achieve higher AIMS scores . There is a high of amount of PDA allowed among students on campus. There are some sports but they do not actually play- against other teams. The boys sports compete but the girls sports do not. Thumbs down for us, hope we can find a new place for next year.

Words cant express how pleased I have been with my childs experience at amerischools. This year is my childs third year at this school and he has thrived both academically and socially. Every teacher my child has had has gone above and beyond to make sure he is succeeding (modify homework, tutor before and after school, communicate with me regularly). The new leadership this year has been outstanding. I knew Mr. Krause as a great teacher at amerischools and he has done a wonderful job as principal this year. Over the past three years amerischools has added many sports and clubs for students to participate in. You can tell that the school is moving in the right direction!

I have just removed my child from this school. The new principal did not seem concerned at all about the welfare of my child, who had been at this school for three years as a high achiever and A student. This year she got a new teacher and was failed in her favorite subject. This is a student that was given a course assignment in the next grade up due to her achievements. A student who got a 97% in math and a 98% in reading nationally on AIMS. The prior trimester this student got all A s taking grade level courses that was one year advance of the child s official grade. Only when the teacher was changed did her grade drop. By a teacher that did not communicate any situation to the child s mother. even though the mother was there volunteering every week. And when I felt I must redraw my child from this school, the principal could care less. It seems the level of teachers being brought in are not at previous levels, but the children will pay the price.

I completely DISAGREE with the 2 last reviewers. The principal is superb and cares deeply about the success of each and every child there. The teachers are very dedicated and kind. The best thing about this school is the fact that they treat and speak respectfully to everyone there INCLUDING children. I did not have that experience in TUSD. My son's academic performance has increased three-fold. To that I say thanks AmeriSchools. YOU ROCK!

If I could give this school a zero, I would. Granted there are good teachers in every school, but they get out shined by their inability to challenge students. I guess this school would be alright if you want your kids to go to daycare all day. barely better than TUSD. look elsewhere.
I recently attended the Science Night and I was very impressed. There were fun science activities for parents to do with their children in different classrooms. Everyone had a great time. The bottle rockets were very successful and my kids came home asking questions and making plans to build more rockets. I also listened to some of the middle school presentations that were part of their science projects on water - usage, CAP project, recycling, etc. I was very impressed with their presentations and their knowledge. Good job students and teachers.

I have a daughter in the Kinder class and a son in 3rd grade. Both are having phenomenal years. I appreciate all the effort that is made by Mrs. Richter and Mr. Moisl to design activities that let the kids learn in lots of different ways. I love the ZooPhonics and Handwriting Without Tears programs. My daughter loves her 5th grade reading buddy and I think having students mentor other students is a great idea for all of the kids. I also like the specials that are offered throughout the year. My kids take lessons in chess, karate, drama, dance and art from high quality community instructors. The only thing I am not happy about is the afterschool program. It is alright, but not anywhere near the same quality as the rest of the program.

My son is in the K-1 class this year. I am thrilled with his teachers. They take the time to talk to parents and include them in what their children are learning. his school is organized, efficient and open to suggestion from parents. I can't say enough about this school. My son just asked me if he could go there next year because he really likes the school- now that's saying something!

I've had my daughter in this school for two years now.The staff and all personel associated with the school are of a very professional nature, and stand in a class all their own. I would not have my daughter in any other teaching institution, than this one.I consider this school to be of the highest quality.

I can not say enough good things about Amerischool! This is my childrens fist year in shcool and the progroam that they have for K-1st is wonderful. Mrs Richter and Mrs Bushey are the teachers for K-1st and I can honestly say that they really care for each student and really take the time to get to know there students and they give them the one on one time that they need. If they are having a problem with a certian subject they will not stop until the child understands or will find another way to teach the child. Anytime I have had a question they are always willing to answer via email or phone.

I am an involved grandparent of a child who has been at AmeriSchools for the past two years. My grandchild is having a unique educational experience that would not be available to him at other public schools. I know this because I am an educator. He is in small classes that allow for individual teacher attention and instruction that is matched with his skills and abilities. He is gifted in math and needs to be challenged by the qualiity of the assignment and inquiry and not just be presented with more worksheets at a higher grade level. The school also provides 'specials' every Tuesday. Instead of sending kids home early one day a week, they provide enriching activites that include art, music, martial arts, and Spanish. This is a great school with committed educatioanal leaders.
I am extremely disappointed with this school ever since the loss of the old principal. This school has gone through more teachers and I believe that it has become more disorganized this year then it has ever been and I have been involved with this school for the past 8 years. I am very involved with my children and their friends and family and am researching other schools, and so are 3 other parents in my childs 4th grade class. It is very disappointing, I do not believe that this school is on track with discipline and that there is a lot of favoritism shown to employees and their children.

My child has been attending this school for 3 years now, going on her 4th year. I have been very involved in her education in her classroom and have been involved with the after school programs as well. I know that with the loss of the past principal there was what seemed to be some chaos, and it may have seemed that some children may have fallen by the wayside. I know the present staff very well by being in constant contact with many of them and know that the leadership this year is superior to last years, and the new principal had to step in and re-adjust many things within the leadership roles. We are very lucky to have the principal we have now, she is 110% dedicated to the students, and making sure not one of them falls through the cracks.

The school does not have enough sports also the school needs better basketball coaches that know what they are going to get into. With more sports the students can get rid of their stress physicaly and mentaly. Even though the teachers are great they have taught my child the same material for two years in a row.

Arizona uses AZ LEARNS Achievement Profiles to indicate schools' overall performance each year. For elementary and middle schools, the profiles are based on current and historical aggregated AIMS results, MAP results and whether or not the school made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP). For high schools, AIMS results, AYP status and graduation/dropout rates are used. Schools are identified as Excelling, Highly Performing, Performing Plus, Performing, Underperforming, Failing to Meet Academic Standards or Pending.
