This is an amazing school! The principal and teachers are wonderful, the staff is great, very friendly and helpful in every way. The curriculum is challenging, the academic programs are advanced and the children are above their grade level. The kids love to learn in the fun and exciting environment provided by the school. Cornerstone provides a solid Christian environment with a strong biblical foundation. Our son loves Cornerstone, he feels happy, loved and safe at all times when he is at school. We are delighted with all that the school has to offer. It is a blessing to be part of the school family.

We love the small class size, facility, and academic curriculum. The curriculum is consistent, example( Saxon math is used from K-6) Elementary teaching is a stepping process and children need to learn each step to go to the next . This school understand this basic elementary teaching philosophy. The admissions director, is professional, well- read, and informative on all accounts of the admit process. Students are polite, friendly and interact well with one another. This is a school worth checking out for discerning parents.

I could not disagree more with the last two comments!! My family has been at CCA for 9 YRS. It's the most spiritually nurturing and academically challenging private Christian school in Tucson! The curriculum is written in such as way as to remove itself from 'cookie cutter' models of public school education. It's focus is specifically on the individual & their learning level & abilities..challenging them where they are. Class sizes are small (12-15), so individualized attention can be given. RE: financial aid. Fact: OVER 73% of CCA students received financial assitance last year. The administration regularly emails & sends out notices (plus parent meetings) regarding tuition assistance. The covenant families at CCA are well informed of their options! CCA truly partners with the home to bring a love of learning to the students, while unfolding to them a Biblical world & life view. I would have my no where else!!!

Our experience is strikingly similar to those described from the June 2008 posting (i.e. cookie cutter, etc.). We are not bitter, and no... our child was not expelled or suspended! Although the academic program was fantastic, there was not much room for individual creativity and just letting kids be kids. Furthermore, we could not justify the way we were treated by the Administration. Getting some straight answers about tuition assistance was near impossible. Status appears to be a big deal, and either you have money or... oh well, poor you. On the surface the school tries to demonstrate some decent Christian values, and they succeed at several venues. We have been Christians for nearly 40 years and feel that the actions/attitude of most of the Administration team and some community members/teachers did not compliment the ideal humble and helpful spirit that should be associated with being a true Christian.

If you want a cookie-cutter kid, this is the place! Unique, quirky, gifted, or individualistic children should not attend this school. Tolerance is nil. Very snotty and closed-minded... and, yes, I've been a Christian for nearly 30 years. I found CCA incredibly box-like in their view of children.

My daughter has now attended for 5 years. Her reading and oratory skills far surpass any of her peers from Tucson's top public schools. Her math skills and abilities are challenged in interschool competitions and a school standard to stay at least one grade level ahead. In the third grade she began Latin and now is unlocking the key to romantic languages and is able to discern medical terms she reads in novels or hears on tv! Our only fear is that by the 6th grade she may surpass us educationally. Beyond the stellar academics is the continuos character development she receives. Her maturity and compassion encourage us to be better because of her example. Extra perks unrivaled by any school in the region include the annual Shakespeare festival in which every student studies and experiences the joy of Shakespeare. Art is not only appreciated but encouraged-they have their own kiln!

Cornerstone has an outstanding curriculum, carefully built on a well-thought through philosophy about the nature of the learner, the purposes of education, etc. My children went through all the grades there, and they were introduced to the great classics of literature at the elementary school level, including works like 'The Odyssey' and 'Beowulf.' Because of Cornerstone, they love Shakespeare, and each delighted in performing plays and sonnets. Most importantly, they love to learn, and Cornerstone has encouraged a thirst for knowledge and given them the tools to teach themselves. Math is accelerated and individualized - no dumbing down! Small classes, great atmosphere of grace and encouragement! Parents are very involved - you would be, too - it's fun to be on campus. Great value, too, compared to private schools elsewhere. This school is the education you wish you had had!!

Recently we moved out of state and discovered just how amazing Cornerstone truly was. Our daughter is light years ahead of her classmates and this is at a 'blue ribbon' honored school! Not enough can be said of the educators at Cornerstone-they are truly amazing and the proof is in the students-phenomenal.
