I can personally say not as a mother but as a student who went to the school in middle school ( I am now 28) that it was below average. I started to go to the Christian academy because I thought I would get more one on one help because I was behind in math from public school however it didn't help. Every math class day I would just pack my things and go to the class that taught math for year prior. It made me feel very self conscious and I still didn't improve. I thought science and history were lacking and the Christian teachings could have been MUCH better. Memorizing flash cards daily were such a dull and lifeless way to learn the word and if you didn't memorize it before break you didn't get to go out. In science I spent the entire half year I was there on only the bones of the body nothing more. I felt everyone was nice but not necessarily genuine and I wish there would have been more in class bible reading and discussion instead of just flashcards or projector. Now that I am a mother I would not have my child go to the school. I am currently looking into a Christian school in Goodyear az.

My daughter just started Kindergarten here this year, and I am more than thrilled that she attends this classical Christian school. God and Country are highlighted, and the students are taught respect for authority, things not so common in the public schools nowadays. Each week Chapel is held where a brief spiritual teaching is given and worship songs are sung. The pledge is recited each morning. Uniforms keep the children looking polished and encourage an environment for learning. The class sizes are smaller, so the kids really get extra attention from their teachers. There are 11 students in my daughter's class. It has a four-day week, Monday through Thursday, which I appreciate but might be a schedule conflict for others. My daughter absolutely loves going to school, loves her teacher, loves the administrator, and is getting smarter each day, all while having fun! The after-school Arts Reaching Kids (ARK) program is great, too, and my daughter is really enjoying the beginning dance class.

When my wife and I decided to change from Home Schooling to a private school, it was not easy. We were extremely displeased with the God-lessness, overcrowding and bullying so rampant in Public Schools, but Private Schooling seemed financially out of reach. We also were concerned with the type of environment, educational programs and extra-curricular programs smaller Christian Schools could provide. Once we discovered Wickenburg Christian Academy, and began exploring the school and talking with the teachers and staff, our concerns melted away. We found a dedicated, knowledgeable staff; a sharp, very well educated administration team; and a curriculum on the cutting edge of Christian Education. The school occupies a campus the local public school system no longer utilizes, so there is plenty of space and multiple classrooms available. There are multiple programs and tracks for us to choose for our children, and many after-school options are provided as well. And perhaps the best reason we love WCA: Our children love it! They are anxious to get up in the morning to go to school, and can't wait to participate in class each day. God has blessed us by allowing us to discover WCA!

We love the small classroom sizes that allow more personalized attention when needed. The after school programs are great and perfect size for learning.

Having just completed year one as a new administrator, I am acutely aware that we are "standing on the shoulders of giants." There is no question that WCA is where it is today because many have poured their hearts and lives into the ministry that has taken place daily over the past 30 years. After being involved for several years as a parent of 3 boys at WCA, I found myself on staff in response to an undeniable call that God placed on my life. Our boys have flourished in the nurturing environment, starting in preschool, and my professional involvement with school represents a sort of convergence of previous experiences, which only God could orchestrate. I am honored to be in a position to build upon the legacy of those who have supported the school over the years, and I look forward to seeing where God leads us in the future! If you are considering options for your student(s), I encourage you to take a closer look at WCA. I would welcome the opportunity to pray with you and introduce you to the school. May you sense the Lord's blessing in your life as you strive to walk in his light! Kevin Isa 2:5

WCA has provided my daughter a higher standard education than I can find in the local public schools. She is engaged in a classical education model of learning and thus, exposed to a rigorous program of writing and speaking built on rules of logic. This model utilizes a blended learning platform, providing students access to field experts in science and math. With small class size, my daughter receives individual help when needed and is able to move at an accelerated pace.

I have had 5 children attend WCA at different times. Now we have a 3rd grader and she absolutely loves it! In her mind, public school is just not an option, and we are pleased to allow WCA to be an extension of our family's values and beliefs. We love it!

Although our daughter has just begun her kindergarten year at WCA a few short weeks ago, we are very pleased with the Christian atmosphere and biblical base that they have to offer. We are also very much encouraged by the fact that the teacher to student ratio is favorable to the student who may need a little extra help or more one on one attention from the teacher.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
