I am happy with my daughters education. She has been in Berrryville since K;she is now in 4th grade. However, I am displeased with the way the kindergarten is ran now. My son started Kindergarten, and the teachers have to grade the kids on a A-F scale. They are expected to know all the information that they should be retaining in Kindergarten the first weeks of school. My son went to preschool, so I feel that he has an advantage, but Pre-K is not mandatory. What about all those children that have not went to pre-k, or have but are in a program where they are taught that children learn through play. They are expected to know all this information and they have not been taught it. I would understand a little more if they were testing them toward the end of the year, but NOT the first weeks of school!
