One of our children goes to Bismarck Elementary School and is enjoying her learning experience. The teachers she has had and has have gone out of their way to encourage her and provide extra material to stimulate further learning. The other staff, such as assistant teachers, playground staff and school bus drivers are all encouraging and perform their work with great care for the students. The principal and staff in the office also are friendly, helpful and very professional. We have been asked to volunteer on several occasions and participating with some of the other parents have been rewarding times. An excellent school all around !

Bismarck is an outstanding school. Yes, in the years '05 -'06 we had a few problems with bad administration. But now we have just an incredible administration to go along with the outstanding staff. My children are scoring above and beyond their age level and their reading level is also two grades higher. I am always welcome in the school, and everyone cares a great deal about all of their students. The supervision is great. I know my children will always be safe. A few parents complain about signing in at the office before being allowed to go to their child's room, but considering it is for safety reasons I think it is great. Now days, I agree with the school, strangers walking in unchecked is not a good idea. Keep up the good work Bismarck.

Often you will be questioned if you enter the elementary buildings. This is not to make you feel as if you are not welcome....it is to protect the children. The school staff watches after the children like hawks. You are welcome at this school....but do not show up without first calling and visiting the principle office. When picking your child up from school they are joined with parents one at a time under the close supervision of the staff. Parents are asked not to exit the car or they will be questioned. It is a wonderful school, my first grader has already learned things that I didn't learn until the 6th grade. I couldn't be more happy with the school.

I love this school. Every school has it's problems but I think for the most part, we have a great staff and great kids. I read a review that said that the principal discourages parental involvment? I have personally been invited to read to students, visit class rooms and be as involved as I wanted to be. We have a very fair principal who goes strictly by the book and some people dont like that, but he does his job well and he cares about those kids!

Parents are very welcome and are encouraged to volunteer. I went on 2 field trips last year - Kindergarten & Second grade. I volunteered at the Spring book fair and was asked to again at the fall book fair - it would be impossible for Mrs. Wright to put on the book fairs without the parent involvement. If you are a parent who comes into the school yelling and cussing at the teachers, principal and/or other staff members - don't be suprised when you aren't invited to volunteer or don't feel welcome in the building. That being said - Bismarck Elementary is a wonderful school that encourages the kids to learn and have fun.

Principal discourages parental involvment on school grounds. Parents are not made to feel welcom in the elementary building. Not enough opportunities for parents to be involved with class parties, field trips, etc.
