The discipline at the high school is very lax, but is very good at the elementary school. Kids at high school are allowed to leave or disappear during the school day, unaccounted for. The school needs a dress code like the uniforms to help build school unity. I've never seen the racism issues, like I've seen in Brinkley Schools. The elementary school, I'd highly recommend, but wouldn't want my child going to the high school.
I dislike the dress code that Brinkley has its very expensive for the parents such as I, who has more than four children.
My son has excelled in this school since he began here. I transferred him from a larger school where you either got it or got left behind (so much for no child left behind). Here the teachers take more time with the students. After two years here, he is now in advanced courses in the high school.
I think the principal leadership is excellent, considering the amount of discipline and all the jobs that the principal is expected to do. Principals are expected to do so much and there are only so many hours in the day. They are on call 24 hours a day -- 7 days a week.--
I think Brinkley Schools is too strict. We can't even use cell phones at lunch! You also get ISS if you get it taken twice and suspended for three times. Our dress code is also strict.! I can't wait til i move out of Brinkley and when I do i'm never coming back!
