I believe that sports (especially football) have been emphasized way too much in the DeQueen School system. The academics and arts have been completely covered up by the tremendous amount of pride in the sports teams. When was the last time the DeQueen Football team made playoffs? Even the band earned two trophys in the past two years for marching and concert contest and yet, all they have received are new chairs and stands. How about helping pay for the repairs of school-owned instruments? The numbers of students in classes are increasing way too much and yet, the school insists on packing in students into classes they don't even want! With the number of students who can repair cars, can DeQueen make an Auto Shop class?

I think that De Queen could do a whole lot better job of taking care of its' students. I don't know how many times the principal put sports as more of a priority than music and reading. I do not agree with the way that the school fuctions.
