This is a great school! I brought my kids into the district strictly because of the consolidation. Although I was one who said that my children would never attend school in El Dorado, it has been the best move I ever made for my kids. Don't be fooled by the size of the district; the teachers care and really get to know their students. I am proud that my children will be El Dorado High School graduates because I know that the education they are receiving will prepare them for whatever college and career they choose to pursue!
El Dorado High School has some amazing teachers. Will every student love every teacher? Not a chance. But the faculty and staff work hard to help students achieve their goals. The AP programs are wonderful. There are several Nationally certified teachers on campus and many teachers hold Master's degrees. As with any large school there are students who don't want to be there and who cause problems but the staff is quick to handle any problems that come up and the local police force works with the school to keep problems off campus. I am very happy with the education my child is receiving and I feel safe in sending her there.
My daughter has been at EHS for five months and she has gone from a failing student who hated school to a student that is making A's and B's for the first time in her school life. Everyone at EHS has been extremely helpful in helping her achieve this. Thank you for all you help
El Dorado high school is a great school thought by looking at the scores you would think its okay comepared to the other school it has the greatest population so for the school to still pretty good test scores while teaching over 1000 students I think that means the school is outstanding.
you get a great education at EHS..... if you stay in the honors program. other wise they just push you along and do not expect much. i stayed w/ the honors program and college so far has been a breeze. we do much of the same things i did in highschool. the ehs counselors don't help at all with anything besides telling you your gpa and that you can't change your schedule once you make it. they have great arts programs and i recommend every student to get involved in one. the library is pretty inaccesible and we weren't encouraged to use it much. the school is racially divided when it comes to courts for homecoming and other events like that. i think its backwards and don't see the purpose. some amazing teachers work there.
