i think that the elkins school system as a whole is very positive and shound. I dont however think the high school math department is..This is the weakest link! I feel that the high school math teachers do not give their all to make sure these kids understand and prepare them for college. I do think that the atmoshpere of the school and the bond with the kids is very strong.

i am a former student of elkins high school. And some of the teachers are great but overall i hated it. If i didnt understand something they didnt even try to work with me. The best teachers they have are miss.smith, miss.hutchins, mr.hess and thats it.

I am an alum of Elkins High School. I like how the teachers have prepared my son for college, staying after school, and after class. My son looks forward to school everyday and working hard for college

This school did not prepare me for life. The teachers did not go out of their way to help students (with the exception of a few) learn the skills needed to help them get through life. All they cared about was testing testing testing. They wanted the money from the state. That is wrong!

I am a former student at Elkins High School. Overall, Elkins is a great school. However, it does not prep students for college at all. For example, I thought that I knew everything that I needed to know about writing a paper in a Freshman College English Class. However, I knew nothing at all. The standards of writing and communication slack to the lowest of standards.

Elkins has the lowest rate of pay in NWA, and yet the teachers give 110%. I don't think this situation will last much longer; why would anyone work for 10K less a year?

I believe Elkins High School should offer a larger curriculum for the students, including an additional foreign language and more AP options. I believe the school is sound academically, but needs further advancement in parent/teacher communication and communication between the administration and parents and students.
