R.G.L.M.S. is a great school. I love the way the teachers help my child and the way all the staff is helpful to my child's learning. It is a great enviroment and I feel safe leaving my child there everyday.
The quality of this school is on the rise. The teachers show a caring attitude and are willing to help on an individual level. Administration within the district is extremely woeful; they do not allow programs for improvement a chance to succeed and often show more interest in succeeding athletically rather than academically. Parental involvement is high but often can backfire because a single parent complaint can destroy an entire district's efforts. (Administrators appease parents without looking into the circumstances of incidents and show little or no effort at backing staff in such occasions.) The school is experiencing growing pains but is seemingly dealing fair with them. All in all, the school has shown strides in accomplishment in spite of its 'leaders'.
The math program at Lynch Middle school is definitely showing improvement. Literacy is still a problem. There needs to be more guidance in the writing process and in responding to specific prompts. Overall, teachers are nuturing to the students and most are approachable to parents. Having National Board certified teachers is a definite plus! It shows that Lynch Middle School wants high quality instructors for the students.
The educational opportunities at RGL Middle School are minimal at best. Most children are instructed below-grade level and teachers are not provided with necessary teaching tools. Discipline and structure are lax. Although there are some good teachers here, the over-all quality of instruction is poor. Children who leave to attend public education find themselves well below level and many are retained or put in remedial courses. Teacher morale is low because of really low pay and lack of any positive feedback from the administration. Priorities are not uniform and too much time is spent off task in some classrooms. For the at-risk child that needs nuturing, there are caretakers on this campus but the real need of smaller classrooms is not provided. Teachers cannot meet the real needs of the children because of this. This is not a school for any child seeking to advance his academics.
