I am a student enrolled in the Hot Springs Middle School. The school may seem like a bad place because of things your students may have told you. But in reality, it is not that bad. As an advanced/ All pre-AP/ IB student, I know that it is not the school that is bad. I've observed that it is the students, mainly of a lower grade level, that make the school seem bad. They do not take the school seriously sometimes, and they act out because they believe that it doesn't matter to have an at least average education. The student to teacher ratio may be a little off, but that is truly something that they can fix. There are also some teachers who could be fired, for their inability to teach in the correct manner or discipline. This may turn away some parents. But honestly if your child acts with respect to others, has an adequate sense of manners, and doesn't congregate with the wrong people, they are likely to succeed. There really isn't a better school district to go to after this one, unless you count homeschooling. Please consider the Hot Springs Middle School or any school in the Hit Springs School District if you are looking for a nice school

Poorly low achieving school for with a low student teacher ratio. Guidance counselor has no skill sets to be able to communicate effectively with parents or the students. This may be an IB school but is certainly doesn't act like one. I will not recommend anyone to this school district. Park Elementary is by far the best of all schools in the Hot Springs School District with a principal who really cares about each and every student. She is the success of Park.

I love this school! I am enrolled in the IB program and feel that I learned quite a lot in the program in my two years, 7th grade, enrolled here. I would not go to any other school in the Hot Springs area. This school has a very poor reputation, and I agree that some people do not act appropriately, but this is in all schools. The IB is trying to change that reputation and erect the student's behavior. I take much pride in my school and do believe that there is not very much parent involvment, but the students can change that, for the most part, they should be responsible for their own actions. I would never change schools and eill stay in the district.

This school has good academic programs, but I think it should have more parent involvement.
