The school is what I'd call below average. STudents don't even have lockers and have to carry all their books with them everywhere. I'm sure chiropractors love it. Science is textbook only, very little hands on, probably because they don't have the money for anything.

Lavaca Middle school is a run of the mil school. There are some good teachers and there are so not that great teachers. There needs to be information available concerning childrens grades before progress report or report card time. Parents do not see daily work because it is generally due at the end of the class. So helping before grades are effected is hard. 7th and 8th have many activities but 5th and 6th pretty much have drama. No sports. The grades are issolated from each other. 5th and 6th in one section and 7th and 8th in another. This makes it hard to interact with thier friends. Even activities after school are now separate. A dance coming up is 5th and 6th 5-7:30 and 7 and 8 after.
