My child has been in this school for 6 years. I believed that the promised changes would be made and she wanted to stay with the friends she had since kindergarten. As I waited for the changes I taught her at home. They state there's a (young astronaut program) however it doesn't exist. Activities such as cheerleading are talked about, practices are sporadically scheduled, the girls get excited and then the school lets them down by not forming a squad 2 years in a row. The gifted and talented program is another example of sporadic scheduling. They are on academic probation again this year, 2006. The staff is often unresponsive to parent and student needs. They enforce complete silence at lunch. This is unreasonable at any age. Many of the staff and teachers don't speak grammatically correct. They often speak Ebonics. In my opinion this school fails terribly.

Excellent school. I have three children enrolled here and all are becoming strong readers thanks to the teachers DRA program.
