I felt the need to review Marshall schools after reading some of the things stated. I attended Marshall from Kindergarten-12th grade, graduating in 2004. I made great friends, loved the teachers, and enjoyed many extracurriculars. I was a member of several clubs including FCA, Beta, PRIDE, and FBLA. I also participated in basketball and softball. There are numerous other extracurriculars there as well. In addition, I took honors classes of which included an AP English program (taught by one of the best English teachers ever). Following graduation, I went to college and earned a Master's degree. Marshall schools prepared me very well for college and my future. On another note, the teachers and administration love their students! They are caring, wonderful people who would do anything to help a student to succeed. I would not wish to spend those years at Marshall anywhere else!
It's just a great school! ha, i go to this school atm, and it's great. Ppl rly need to stop trashing it. We offer great extracurricular's!
I have been reading some of the reviews of the Marshall High School on this site and I felt that I had to respond to some of the things that have been posted. I feel that this school has lots of things going for it. It is a small school that cares about the students. Teachers want to help students succeed. The teachers know the students personally and they are concerned about them. The teachers are all highly qualified teachers as approved by the state of Arkansas. As for the curriculum, the school's curriculum follows the state mandated student learner expectations. I am proud to be associated with this school.
My step daughter goes to this school and the curriculum they offer seems to be a joke. They don't seem to offer any practical extracurricular activities, just junk. I my self am a teacher at a different district and I have to say that the practices at this school would not fly at my school.
I graduated from Marshall in 2004. At the time, yes, I hated it. However, reflecting back now that I have graduated, I want to go back. Recently, I moved to Miami Florida and took up a project in college on school overpopulation. You'd be suprised what this does to a school. After seeing what it's like here, Marshall is a God-send. All kids hate their schools while they are there, but upon leaving and reflection, we all change our minds. Not all of the teachers are very good at teaching their subjects, but they work with you none-the-less and there is always another teacher able to help, and at least they care about their students. Each teacher is more like a mother/father than a teacher, able and ready to listen to anything a student might have a problem with. Overall, Marshall is a great place to send children.
I used to atteng MHS. I consider their facilities and curriculam to be subpar. It seemed that the teachers had less qualification to teach than some of the students. The only extracurricular activities that count there are sports and as far as parental involvement the only ones I saw were the ones who worked there.
This school is not all that bad. I am a senior this year and I have attended Marshall my entire life. It's a regular high school, so naturally there will be people who complain. But over all, the halls are not that crowded and there are no gangs, so I think Marshall is a pretty good school.
I honestly believe that Marshall High School is a safe place to be. All of the teachers are good especially our principal is doing an excellent job with our school.I hope he is our principal next year.I hope that the schools will consildate with us.
