When teachers allow themselves and other students to make fun of the less fortunate then maybe the school needs to be overhauled. I'm very disappointed in this school, and will be making a public example out of them.
Need better teachers. The principal is a joke, thank goodness he is retiring this year. There are not any programs for gifted children. Seems like more time and money are focused on sports. Also seems that they push for better test scores at the expense of a child that might actually need help in the subject.
From our experience, the teachers need to be more aware of a student having problems with a subject, offer extra help and above all notify the parent immediately, when all she is seeing is an F on their papers. Also the school seems to be more concerned with spending more money on the sports end of things rather than teaching.Bullies are an issue at the PJHS where are the adults that are suppose to control this problem ? There are kids there who don't want to fight but are forced into it,why?
I believe that too much money is spent on sports and more needs to be spent on educating our children. The odds are that maybe one or two will go to college on sports scholarship however, more will go on their educational abilities. The student teacher ratio is poor; teachers are unable to spend the extra time need with children that do not catch on to a particular concept. Students are not required to do science fair project nor can they do them individually and participate in local and state programs. Our children do suffer from attending a larger school; however, by being a larger school the children are exposed to more peers and other races.
I beleive this school has a good disciplinary policy. the teachers are very kind. they have a good school system. the principal Mr. Buzby was very kind.
