What a great experience 5th grade has been! Moving 'up' from elementary school sounded pretty scary, but the 'big school' look with the warmth and comfort of elementary school was exactly the right fit to prepare my son for the rest of middle school. The teachers take their jobs very seriously . . . from dressing more professionally that most of my co-worker in an office environment, to holding kids to their expectations of academic performance and behavior. If this sounds a little structured, don't worry, the warm, friendly environment has opened up a world of possibilites to my son and his classmates. They are teaching kids to take responsibility for themselves and at the same time inspiring them to love to learn. At your schoold do you hear many parents 'complain' about how much time their children want to spend reading at home? :) We could not be more pleased.

I can tell you they take the 'no child left behind ' literally. Regardless of whether the child is ready to go to the next grade or not they will pass them on.There is a general lack of concern for academics.
