I am rating this school unsatisfactory not because of the quality of academics but because of the lack quality of supervision. This is one of those school that ignore the children that are being teased and bullied. They went as far as to blame the victim of bullying that he was responsible for it because he did something his bully didn't like. He was hit several times and nothing was done. I would not recommend any of the schools in the Acton Agua Dulce District because of this.

Many of us came to this school from a neighboring district because of the unsatisfactory learning environment and lack of programs for high achieving kids. Personally, I have been extremely satisfied as my son who is now in 8th grade is doing wonderfully. I never hear about any bullying, drugs, or fighting. The principal has excellent control of the school. I believe any problems are handled swiftly and decisively. My son seems appropriately challenged in his work. I wish other middle schools would take note.

i am a curent student here and i like it quite much. i like it a lot but it has no real sports and PE is terrible. it could be better but i dont like it as much as i lked the ones in ventura

Academic quality is minimal at best. Does not encourage parental involvement. If your child is not a natural student don't look for much help here.

High Desert seemed like a nice school to me, even though it was a little old. The school is really close to the highway, so that's good for us because we live 30 minutes away. The school also started later tha most schools, which made me happy.

When I attended High Desert I was amazed at the dedication of excellence of the school. It was a safe and intelecctual enviorment which did not harbor any disractions I see at other schools.
