My granddaughter came to Mitchell after slipping through the cracks at another city's school district. Mitchell staff worked with me in finding having her evaluated and brought up to speed academically. I was kept informed, and felt that they really listened to me, every step of the way. I cannot say enough about this school to express my gratitude and how impressed I am with them.

Mitchell Intermediate Elementary. Although the principal is very nice, the school is terrible about parental notification and keeping us informed other than a robocall the night before an event. Although many teachers are good, several we had were horrible, and all the principal cared about was that their test scores were ok so he didn't really care basically. The lunch program is archaic, and everyone blames everyone else for the fact that nothing is done right in a variety of areas. Not a good place. Go elsewhere if you have a choice.

All the staff is very enthusiastic about learning. They really encourage the kids and believe in their ability to succeed.

My child went to this school three years back, graduated with a 4.00GPA and is now attending Atwater High School with the knowledge he has gained at Mitchell. I attribute is GPA (over 4.0 as of now) at Atwater to his successes at Mitchell Senior. Great teachers, not so great staff of administrators, and needs some better facilities though.
