I love steirn! My daughter (who is now in 8th grade) went their since she was in 6th grade and has straights A's. Stiern Teachers and Staff are very well trained and even though THE STUDENTS tend to get into fights, its not the teachers fault. They Try their Best!

Stiern is a school that is full of caring and qualified individuals to assist students in achieving their highest potential. The administrators are well prepared and equipped to handle the diverse needs of our students. The teachers at the school are deeply involved with the education and well-being of their students. We have after-school sports, tutoring, and clubs, and PLCs and trainings to increase teacher and student success. We have published students on campus, clean-up days, and many groups and activities at the school for students to get involved in. We are one of the only Middle Schools/Jr. High that has a GATE/Honors program. I would urge parents who are unhappy with something at this or any school, to contact the teachers and/or administrators about their concerns. I would also advise joining the School Site Council and Booster Club so their opinions are heard.

I have two children that attended Stiern Middle for sixth and seventh grade. No one bothers to notify you of anything from ditching to grades or injury. Also the school is so ghetto my kids handwriting started to change to graffiti. This is in a nutshell keep in mind! Both kids who had been A students, one a class president, and both involved in sports, had now become straight F students! No one care at this school so we moved them to Fairfax a smaller more wholesome environment. I realize all schools have their downfalls but Stiern is by far the most Ghetto school ever and I drive all across town now so my youngest wont follow any path that ends up there!

As is true with the vast majority of California public schools, the challenges at Stiern are many and constant. The current administration is well organized and equipped to address and meet these challenges. Increased student achievement while providing a safe and reasonable climate drives decision-making at Stiern.

It is known that this school is struggling in academics, scoring far below average across the board in test scores. I think the quality of teachers, faculty and student counseling are illequiped for the bussing situation they have. Really bad school to send your kid to.
