All I can say is that West High School Administration is not right. They do not treat children equal. Most of the teachers are good. But, not the office administration. West High has really gone down from when I went there. There are a lot of thefts at West High as well.

I was a student at West High School from August 2004 to March 2007. The school gets a bad rap for low test scores, but that's the laziness of the students rather than the quality of the teachers. Most of my teachers were very skilled and knew how to do their job. Security guards are everywhere, so most fights that break out don't last too long. Overall, the atmosphere is pleasant.

If you want your child to succeed, you have to be on top over every little detail regarding their classes, their schedule and what they need to graduate. If you blink, they will change things without letting you know, they will drop students from classes and they will screw things up royally. I have learned to check everything twice, verify it from Dean to Counselor and then check again as information tends to change from person to person, day to day.

West High is a great school! Our child has excelled academically and athletically while taking challenging courses and participating in multiple sports. The staff is wonderful and my husband and I believe that West is BEST.

West is a school that cares about its children. The teachers are devoted to their profession. They, as well as the counselors and other staff, are always available to speak to parents and offer positive solutions to any problems.
