I have two children attending Frontier, and I can tell you that their experience has been outstanding. Even though it is only 5 years old, Frontier has become an academic, activities, music, and sports powerhouse. The extracurricular activities are very good, with lots of student participation and parental support. I would reccomend this scool to anyone sending their kids to school in Bakersfield.

this school is pretty good.i am a freshman and i have enjoyed this school so far. the sports are great and the choir and band are outstanding. a flaw that i would fix in this school is the strictness. students should have more oppoutuity to enjoy their high school years and not looked upon by the security every day.

The teachers at the school for the most part are good, of course you have the few who don't keep you up to date on the progress of your child until you get the F on a grade card. The sports are excellent, a lot of parent involvement and support. The administration needs to loosen up some and let the kids be kids and enjoy their high school years though. For the most part the students have a lot of school spirit and ten to get along fairly decently. I would recommend this school.

academically this school is horrible! But the kids there are friendly and open to new people. There are no cliques or big groups. The teachers are not very challenging and they are very boring!

I would not bother sending my son here for another year, as I care too much about his success in college to jeopardize it with a new and unrecognized school. Am I being harsh? Yes, but I've done my research, and there are plenty of better schools in the area which provide excellent extracurriculars along with good guidance counseling and strong academics. Consider Garces, East Bakersfield High, or BHS, and do what your child deserves!

After looking at several high schools in the area, Frontier stood out as the best by far. The teachers work really hard with the student and I have seen several go out of there way to help kids get back on track. I visited some classrooms and found that each room had it's own unique set up. I am impressed with the vision of the administration. They are innovative. When they make a policy, they really stick with it. Students like the school and there are few social problems that I can see.

Overall the school is great school, but it does have some flaws, but they could be fixed easily. A flaw is that the teachers don't bring out the best in the students, they teach to the level of the lowest student in the class. They don't really challenge the students. I am a student at Frontier and it's great, but it could be better. One good quality is that the students are much more friendly and their 'cliques' aren't as segregated as they are at other schools. There is less conflict between students because most are open minded and don't classify each other into different groups. And this makes the sorrounding environment much more comforting and peaceful.

I would say that Frontier's extracurricular activities are more than wonderful. There could be more parent involvement, but overall the activities are above average. Academics however, could use some work. Most teachers, especially in the math department, are clearly not doing their jobs correctly. The students are discouraged and not willing to try when it comes to various subjects.I believe there is soo much potential in those students if only they had more teachers they could depend on.(The AG department is wonderful!) Overall i think the school is a nice accomplishment with minor flaws that can certainly be worked out. I am pretty pleased with the school and my daughter is happy there.
