Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

My daughters love this school, and I love how open the teachers are in contacting the parents when there is an issue. I strongly believe in open lines of communication between parents and teachers. I have been wanting to pull my kids to a school closer to our home, but when I read the other school's negative reviews, I change my mind. What is some self-sacrifice on my part for the sake of my children obtaining a better education. The school is worth it!

Every time I leave that place, I feel soooo good! I'm very happy and proud that my daughter goes to this school. This is like a big family. Everyone knows everyone. All kids interact well with each other, I mean older kids interacting with the younger kids. The students look happy, the teacher look happy. They really want to be there and they are 100% committed to the students. The principal empowers the students and does not hold them small. I am looking forward to another school year.

As a small school of only about 60 or so kids, they really need a lot of support to keep the programs working. Most of these kids are from underprivileged communities, and this schooling gives them a true sense of belonging, accomplishment, and great experience in the performing arts. And they're extremely talented, too.

I had an opportunity to see the graduation ceremony in last June although I have known this school for almost two years. I must confess that I always thought that it's just an alternative school for kids to have good time, but throughout the year, I got to know more about the way they approach to children and their curriculum . Especially, what I have seen in the ceremony, completely changed my impression about the Creative Planet. Most students had been promoted to the most prestigious high schools and academies nationwide. I saw the happiness and excitement in each student's eyes. This school opens doors to it's students and helps them to build their future. As a graduated film directing student, I should say that this school is a very good choice to start up for the artists of the future. They have practical lessons in acting, dancing and music. All the students participate in these classes and they make projects. That way the can get used to stage and offstage. This is what people who involved with art called, "Grown up from the kitchen." This is essential because they gain artistic discipline, responsibility, and experiment which are very beneficial to their career. Moreover, students improve their knowledge of art with various theoretical lessons. In short, Creative Planet cooks the little talents in the gifted hands of it's kitchen to make them ready to serve.

It is a school led by dedicated, caring, and passionate directors and teachers with a huge vision. They see students for what they can become: successful, confident, happy, intelligent and extremely talented. And humanitarians who take their gifts and talents and share with others. Their bottom line is the students- to take everything they have and know and pass it on to the students. But it takes money to run a great school like CPSOA. How much? I'd say: priceless. But $20,000 would be an excellent place to start! Thank you.

This school could not have come at a better time in my son's life. He was about to start the fourth grade in the public school system. He is a wonderful kid, who like most, struggled with reading. This made him insecure, unhappy and uncomfortable at school. I found Creative Planet and enrolled him in the summer arts program. Within one week, I was able to see a huge difference in his self-esteem! He was just a much happier kid! I didn't have to think twice about whether or not this was the right school for him. I had the privilege of experiencing first hand while in Tanzania, how gifted these children are. For most of them, this was their frst plane ride to Africa, no less. They never complained about the lack of resources, the dirty, hot conditions, or of working everyday with the orphanage while performing with them and becoming enculturated. They are driven and passionate individuals who aspire to become successful in the Arts. Their teachers invest their time 24/7 by promoting their best assets and demonstrating to them the ingredients of perseverance and hard work. They have high aspirations and should not let monetary obstacles get in their way of achieving their goals. I have been touched by this school.

Why do I love CPSOA, where do I start, this school was like a second home to my daughter. Mr. Billy, the staff and teachers are truly caring and concerned. My child looked forward to going to school; she did her best academically, which is accelerated as everyone works at their own level, so in essence students challenge each other and the incentive to do well was so she could actively be involved in all the arts classes and performances. I feel blessed that we found Creative Planet, nowhere else would she have learned to play piano and violin; dance ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap and ball room; sing, act, and music theater; learn Spanish, Swahili and sign language! One of the most valuable life lessons she learned was respect and tolerance that every person is important, no matter what role you assume, that when everyone works together as part of a team, anything can be accomplished and nothing is impossible.

CPSOA is the only dance based elementary curriculum I know of and the daily kinesthetic connection of mind, body and spirit grow these kids into incredible human beings. I have witnessed numerous shows and it's a miracle to behold each time: professional level performances by children! I've worked with these kids professionally and they have learned the discipline, work ethic, ingenuity and everything it takes to be successful not only as artists but as thriving human beings... and at such a young age. I salute the Principle, Mr. Billy, and the entire staff who run the school on a shoestring, giving endlessly for the benefit of these children, their parents and their communities. BRAVO!

As a grandparent I can see how this school has not only given my grand daughter a great academic education but also given her a chance to experience the arts. All the children benefit from the special attention each is given. Mr. Billy and the staff bring out the best in each and every pupil. They develop great self-esteem and in a time where you see and hear about problems between students these students truly help and care for one another! I contribute that to the wonderful teachers, staff and parents that work together to bring out the very best in each and every student. Thank you Creative Planet!!!!

This is a unique school that provides an environment that is safe, academically and artistically rich and that challenges its students to have a positive influence on the world. They teach them to care about others, learn about other cultures, to excel academically, and to have a voice in the community.

Thanks to Creative Planet my son has better self-esteem, his self confidence increased tremendously. The teachers are great and the environment lends itself toward the development of the students artistic talents. At Creative Planet the children are free to express themselves and not be afraid of being themselves. My son had a tough time in the public school system until he went to Creative Planet and did excellently both academically and artistically.

Creative Planet School of the Arts is the most extraordinary and amazing schools I have ever experienced and observed. CPS offers a safe and nurturing environment for all children regardless of human difference which is particularly important during this epidemic of bullying and teen suicides in our country. CPS has remarkably dedicated teachers who inspire while challenging the students to grow in critical thinking, core curricula, the arts and community service. CPS is one of the most joyful schools I have ever observed. The high standards for academic achievement are balanced with care for the self-esteem of each student. CPS raised money to take a group of students to Tanzania to work with a sister school there. I was so grateful to see this kind of once in a life-time intercultural experience offered to students that I gave money to this important project. If I had a child, I would want them to attend and experience CPS. I have every confidence that my child would grow as a student, a human being and a citizen of our community and the world. This is a 5 gold star school in every way. Michael J. Adee, Ph.D.

Creative Planet is a great school which offers accellorated academics and teaches children from all backgrounds that they all have inherent talent. Through the Arts, these children learn self-confidence and leadership skills. They are also taught to give back to others who are in greater need than they are through the Arts.

The tireless and committed staff of Creative Planet is providing an excellent education combined with a focus on the arts in a district that otherwise wouldn't have any. Having watched students navigate and now graduate from CP I can tell you the hugely positive impact this type of education is having on these kids AND their families. If you are looking for a school whose impact will be felt down through the generations, you've found one.

No other school provides this kind of conscientious and nurturing opportunity for children to improve their own lives, their communities, and beyond by developing as young artists. By treating students with respect and building a strong base of comprehensive knowledge, CPSOA empowers them to become better people who can bring their creativity and wisdom to any profession they choose.

Creative Planet is a unique and much-needed educational institution that breeds well-rounded and grounded kids. Creative Planet students are schooled in both general and arts curriculum. They are afforded unique performance opportunities, in addition to many community service activities. I've seen students that would normally be in the background be elevated to spotlight performers, and the result is increased confidence for all. It's a one-of-a-kind school that really deserves recognition. Once you attend a Creative Planet performance, you are not likely to forget the students or the feeling you have when you leave the theatre.

Billy and the whole group at CPSOA do great work, not only helping kids who might otherwise be at risk of dropping out find their unique voices artistically, but also helping them excel academically. They truly make a difference!

This school is nothing short of a dream come true. Amazing staff, faculty, and a great group of kids dedicated to each other and their school. I drive from Hollywood so that my child can go to school here. He is happy and learning, and I have nothing but great things to say about Creative Planet School of The Arts.

Our child has been at Creative Planet for a year, and I can not hope to give the school and it's staff justice in a little review. Not only is our child happy and prospering, but he has great relationships with his classmates. The collaborative nature of the school encourages the older children to interact and help the younger ones, and you have to witness the amazing performances the children are able to accomplish to understand what a special place the school is.

This is one of the best schools,I've ever seen. The disipline of these children is awsome most kids stay at school to 6pm. During breaks the kids cannot wait until school is back in session. One student said 'the school years goes by to fast' .
