My brother and nephews are alumni. The new teachers and new principal are incredible. I feel safe leaving my 2 children here. My 5 year old will be starting this year. Our principal (Mrs. Flock) cares about this school so much, she has enrolled her own children for the coming school year. She has done so many incredible things that makes us all very anxious & proud to begin a new year as a part of this family community. I am happy to say that through thick and thin, I will continue to believe in St. Gertrude the Great because they have instilled values in my children that I don't believe they would have been able to learn in a public school. Thank you very much to the teachers and most of all Mrs. Flock for helping to bring St. Gertrude the Great back to where we were many years ago.
I attended, my son will soon be attending, and I am very excited. I was sorry to hear about the recent struggles, but I will contribute as much as I can to change for the better. I am very happy with the recent changes.
Great staff, great teachers, great principal, great students, great parents.... Our school's on its way!
It is now a new school year, I believe that we can go back to being the great school that it once was. We have a new principal and a new staff. They are just wonderful for my child's education. The school was lucky enough to keep some teachers. These teachers are great too! I believe that we are now going uphill instead of downhill. My child has been attending this school since kinder, and I want this school to go up so she can stay her 8th grade year. We have to patch up the bruises that this school has gone through in these past few years. If we have the effort to become one big family and participate in the school's events, we can restore and build up St. Gertrude!
St Gertrude the Great, is a good school, my son already graduated from this school and he did great! like in any other school there is always issues, but we as parents need to get involved in the school and not only criticize what others do. If you don't participate in your kids school then don't complain!!
I am a student of St. Gertrude the Great school. I believe St. Gertrude is a great school because all the teachers help out the students in many ways. They all like to spend time with the students and family. Also, the principal is a great influence on the parents and students. She is energetic and always positive. She is always trying to find new ways to keep the school up beat and happy. The new priest is also very positive and always giving lectures in ways students can understand and relate to. The teachers always try to challenge the students so that they may be prepared for their upcoming year. For people who have noticing bad changes before, people should come to the school to notice how many things have changed so far this year. Teachers, parents, and staff all have been helping constantly to show others how our school is a great school. ST. GERTRUDE THE GREAT SCHOOL. Remeber, "ONCE AN EAGLE, ALWAYS AN EAGLE" Everyone has been a former student should come to support St. Gertrude the Great School or always to rate our school and post comments of how you think our school is.
I love my school because the teachers are nice. The janitor is really funny and cool and nice. Another reason I love my school is because it is fun. Also I love my school because all the students there are nice, fun, and cool. Also the kinder and first grade playground is fun and AWESOME. Also I learned alot of things because the teachers are really smart. Also the principal is nice and kind to the students and teachers. Also my teacher is strict so we could be the best and the greatest like my school SAINT GERTUDE THE GREAT
Its sad to read these negative reports, when they have been posted by the prior principal herself. Thankfully, St. Gertrude School has survived her poor management skills and has now has been fully staffed by a new principal and instructors. We are now blessed to be staffed with qualified and dedicated teachers with challenging academic programs. St. Gertrude has always been a great school, and It only takes one visit to see and feel for yourself the positive and safe enviroment our children are exposed to.
The parents need a shake up. I am not the only parent who feel this way. There are good parents, and there are those parents who talk but don't deliver. I think the academics is too difficult. My daughter struggles in math, she is learning algebra in junior high. The teacher should allow retests.
RUN FAST AND AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE FROM THIS SCHOOL!!!! The secretary is such a grouch, my sons teacher is a bit too friendly with his students (I tell my son not to go in to his classroom during lunch to watch youtube videos like the other students), but worst of all, the parent community is god awful. Everyone seems to love my sons teacher, but if you ask me, I think administration needs to keep a close eye on him. The parents are negative and their lack of support shows within the school community. The parents stand outside and gossip since they have nothing better to do. I drop my son off at school and pick him up right when school ends. I dont bother talking to those parents. This will be my sons last year at this school. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. STAY AWAY!!!!
