About this school

Black Pine Circle is an independent school for kindergarten through 8th grade in Berkeley, whose mission is to create a learning community that encourages humanity, empathy, moral depth, cultural understanding, and freedom in intellectual pursuits. For more than 40 years, it has been our goal to create lifelong learners through an inquiry-based Socratic education that places equal emphasis on academics and the arts.
