Bloomington christian is a good schood for eduction. But the new dress code is only 2 differant colored pants and solid polos and your shorts have to be down to your knees for 6-8th. there always getting people for dress code when they dident do nothing wrong. Also rumers spread fast if anyone makes anything up about you even the teachers will know. most of them are mean. And most of the kids there get bullyed.-im a stdent

My child just recently started going to the school within the past year. I have seen such drastic change in his/her grades. My child grades has improve for the better. My child attitude and behavior is more positive and is always looking forward to going to school the next day. The principal, teacher, and staff is always friendly and promotes a postive atsmosphere. I was not too sure about the area that the school is located in. However, you can never judge a book by it's cover. The school is a good school for any teenager to attend.

I would really like to give the school the benefit of the doubt since I have relatives who have attended the school and loved it but my experience was not as good, I was surprised to find out that the preschool was not academic at all and instead was only developmental. unfortunately my daughter did not learn much at all the entire year there. There were also some really bad little kids and there did not seem to be any clear rules for how to handle or disciple kids at this age who curse. Many other schools in the IE have clear guidelines so be sure to visit others as well especially if you are considering pre school. Word of Life or maybe Upland Christian may be better options. However, tour all and ask about discipline policies if any and see what is best for you and yours.

I am an alumni from Bloomington Christian school. I couldn't express enough in words how much this school has blessed me, and prepared me to be not only a responsiable adult, but this school prepared me for college. Mrs. Michaelson the vice principal is a caring loving woman of God, and Mr. Avalos the principal a strong leader. BCS hires the right staff, and still today even being an alumni I call BCS home. Lord willing when I have my children, they will attend here, and I tell everyone I know and meet the education at BCS is worth investing every penny.

In my judgment, this school will not educate your students in such a way that will prepare them for college. If the student is already such that he will succeed in college, then this school will not drag him down, but if the student is one who needs additional preparation to make him ready for college, this school will not help him reach that point. Only a handful of classes (or rather the teachers that teach them) will require actual effort from the student, most will serve only as some place one must sit for one hour a day five days a week. This school struck me (and my parents) as impressive years ago when I was in elementary school, but mediocre when one reached High School.

My children have always been in the private school system but when it came for them to attend high school I wanted to make sure the choice we made also prepared them for adulthood. I do have to say that this school is ran by God Loving people, although compared to friends in other schools both private and public I do feel this school isnt as academicaly challenging as I would like. The homework is a little too light for my taste. The teachers are dedicated and the staff is there for pretty much no other reason but to mentor and help the students. We all know that the teenage years are already tough so I think this school helps the students go through already a difficult time with prayer and guidance.

Even though this school may have a safe enviorment, theeir teaching standard are not that high and they fail to treat the students equally. The only children they really seem to care about are the staff kids. The cirriculum is not challanging enough!

I love the caring staff and the reasonable price for a private school. Go Ravens!

Over all I'm happy with the education my 4th grade son is getting in comparison to what is available in the public schools in this area. He is challenged and not just passed along. Although I am not a religious person I appreciate the moral values that are instilled and have no complaints. Yes there are additional costs but I don't expect much less as it is a private school and not public and it comes with the territory. I will say that I am pleased that fund raising activities and the like show marked improvements to the school and grounds which in my years in public school were barely noticeable. Mr Mackenzie is a wonderful administrator who really cares about the students. When my 1 year old is ready he will be attending as well.
