BCS is a great school. My boys have been blessed to have great teachers who teach them about God and academics. My boys have grown in the Lord and love to worship him and tell others about God. They both started at BCS's preschool. They have chapel once a week where they get to worship God in song and also hear from our School pastor. My oldest will be going into Junior High. I look forward to seeing him grow even more in the Lord with all the wonderful teachers I have heard about. I recommend this school my friends and neighbors.

If you are looking for a great school Bloomington Christian School should be your choice. I have two kids at the school. They have been there since preschool. The school is accredited, and the tuition is close to half the cost of other schools. The teaching staff is great. They are available any time. I know my children's grades by visiting the schools web site. They are posted weekly. The parents are involved in school activities . We all do our best to help our teachers in any way we can. The Principal is new this year. He has made some changes not all very popular but needed. They have only Improved my children's learning experience. There are so many reasons why BCS Should be your choice. ACADEMICS, CHRISTIAN PRINCIPALS, FOOTBALL, BASEBALL, SOFTBALL,BASKETBALL,VOLLEYBALL, SOCCER, SWIMMING etc. If you are still not sure about this school remember this, A GREAT EDUCATION (as good if not better) FOR HALF THE COST.

BCS is an amazing school! We have been so blessed to have our children attend here! They have received a great education and the administration as well as the teaching staff are wonderful. On top of the great education they have learned the love of Jesus and knowledge in Gods Word and how to apply it to their lives. They have developed a closer relationship with Jesus because of the love and guidance of the staff that works at BCS! I highly recommend placing your own child in this blessed school!

BCS is a God driven school. We are so blessed to have a the opportunity to have our students attend BCS. It feels like one big family here. The teachers love and care for our children as if being one of their own and our children have learned so much from them academically but most of all spiritually. Chapels are amazing! Seeing the kids worship with all their heart just melts our souls. If you are looking for an amazing godly purposeful-driven school for your children and academically challenging, BCS would be for you.

BCS has been a blessing in my children's lives. My oldest (now graduated from HS) began in 1st grade. After just 1 year in public kinder she was already behind but, because of BCS's solid academics, she was able to catch up quickly. My 2nd child was diagnosed with a learning disability when he was in K at BCS. Despite this obstacle he has grown and excelled beyond any level that he might have through a public school. Each year his teachers have been devoted to helping him do his best every step of the way and now they have a resource specialist on staff that works with his teachers and helps meet his IEP requirements. The administration is firm but loving with students and prayer is a priority with everyone throughout the day and integrated into every event. There are lots of opportunities for parents and students to participate in events and most importantly I know my children are loved and cared for. BCS is a wonderful school and continues to improve and get better with each passing year. I m so glad my children attend here.

Not only am I a parent, but I am an alumni. Although BCS has gone through some major restructuring this year it was all for the good of the school. My children have learned so much this year. The teachers are attentive to the needs of those in the class are always available to talk about your child's progress. I can say that this year there has been a lot of new programs in place, the curriculum challenges the students and I am proud to say that my children get an awesome education from BCS. They are also teaching my children about God which is an extension of our teaching at home. I do not have to worry that my child is being taught anything that I would not teach them in the home. Thank you BCS for being there for my kids.

Bloomington Christian School Has Made Some Major Improvements Over This Past Year in Its Teaching Staff. the Current Staff Not Only Teaches With The Love Of Christ But Also With Great Subject Knowledge. The Administration Really Seems Concerned With The best Quality Education For My Child. I Would Highly Recommend Sending your Child To Bloomington Christian For The Best eduction Possible.

I have the privilege of teaching at BCS. I love each and every student with all my heart. Not only do I get the privilege of teaching students, but I get the chance to share God with each and every student I come in contact with. I look forward to each year as a new ministry of God and also with new ways to encourage each and every student to be the best they can and to challenge them as well. I love that I am encouraged to use all kinds of resources to teach my students, which allows me to reach all types of learners. I pray that all will take a look at BCS and not only see God in our school, but also see the academic side as well. God Bless

The school is a great school to meet the needs of the resource kids that struggle.

Our child attended BCS for the high school years. The education is sub-par; the teachers played favorites. There was a ton of nepotism since most of the teachers were related to one another somehow; the Spanish teacher couldn't speak Spanish & one teacher talked about her boyfriend every class. I regret sending my child here, regret spending the money on what I thought would be an outstanding education. Grades were high, but it was not a valid reflection of what was learned. Parents were basically ignored throughout the whole school process.

My children attended BCS for 4 years, I decided to remove them from BCS when I noticed my daughter complaining about her 8th grade Math teacher. I was very upset to find out that a student was helping the teacher with the math lessons. My daughter having a B+ had to re-take Algebra 1 in public school because it did not meet there standers. I don't regret having to pay the elementary years because I may say they did learn a lot about Christ but It get to a point that I felt that they were using the Christian name to bring students to the school...

Bloomington christian is a good schood for eduction. But the new dress code is only 2 differant colored pants and solid polos and your shorts have to be down to your knees for 6-8th. there always getting people for dress code when they dident do nothing wrong. Also rumers spread fast if anyone makes anything up about you even the teachers will know. most of them are mean. And most of the kids there get bullyed.-im a stdent

My child just recently started going to the school within the past year. I have seen such drastic change in his/her grades. My child grades has improve for the better. My child attitude and behavior is more positive and is always looking forward to going to school the next day. The principal, teacher, and staff is always friendly and promotes a postive atsmosphere. I was not too sure about the area that the school is located in. However, you can never judge a book by it's cover. The school is a good school for any teenager to attend.

I would really like to give the school the benefit of the doubt since I have relatives who have attended the school and loved it but my experience was not as good, I was surprised to find out that the preschool was not academic at all and instead was only developmental. unfortunately my daughter did not learn much at all the entire year there. There were also some really bad little kids and there did not seem to be any clear rules for how to handle or disciple kids at this age who curse. Many other schools in the IE have clear guidelines so be sure to visit others as well especially if you are considering pre school. Word of Life or maybe Upland Christian may be better options. However, tour all and ask about discipline policies if any and see what is best for you and yours.

I am an alumni from Bloomington Christian school. I couldn't express enough in words how much this school has blessed me, and prepared me to be not only a responsiable adult, but this school prepared me for college. Mrs. Michaelson the vice principal is a caring loving woman of God, and Mr. Avalos the principal a strong leader. BCS hires the right staff, and still today even being an alumni I call BCS home. Lord willing when I have my children, they will attend here, and I tell everyone I know and meet the education at BCS is worth investing every penny.

In my judgment, this school will not educate your students in such a way that will prepare them for college. If the student is already such that he will succeed in college, then this school will not drag him down, but if the student is one who needs additional preparation to make him ready for college, this school will not help him reach that point. Only a handful of classes (or rather the teachers that teach them) will require actual effort from the student, most will serve only as some place one must sit for one hour a day five days a week. This school struck me (and my parents) as impressive years ago when I was in elementary school, but mediocre when one reached High School.

My children have always been in the private school system but when it came for them to attend high school I wanted to make sure the choice we made also prepared them for adulthood. I do have to say that this school is ran by God Loving people, although compared to friends in other schools both private and public I do feel this school isnt as academicaly challenging as I would like. The homework is a little too light for my taste. The teachers are dedicated and the staff is there for pretty much no other reason but to mentor and help the students. We all know that the teenage years are already tough so I think this school helps the students go through already a difficult time with prayer and guidance.

Even though this school may have a safe enviorment, theeir teaching standard are not that high and they fail to treat the students equally. The only children they really seem to care about are the staff kids. The cirriculum is not challanging enough!

I love the caring staff and the reasonable price for a private school. Go Ravens!

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
