Jonata Elementary School

Jonata is fantastic middle school currently serving 4-8 grades (K-3 are served by Oak Valley Elementary School, right up the street, and 4 & 5 will be reloctaed there for the fall 2006 school year). Jonata boasts the biggest and best music program in the entire Santa Ynez Valley. There is a huge number of parent volunteers. Jonata consistently shows excellent scores on the STAR tests. The administrative and certificated staff are approachable and friendly. The PTSA is extremely active with fundraising and support. There is a new gymnasium being built over the next 18 months (scheduled for completion in the summer of 2007) that will provide the best facilities for indoor sports for miles around. I have one child at Jonata who has been there since before the Oak Valley school was built (when Jonata was K-8). I recommend this school to anyone seeking a top notch education for their kids.

The Buellton Union School District actually includes 2 schools, Jonata & Oak Valley (which is not listed here) Oak Valley is 1-3 Grade and will be expanding to hold K-5. Both Schools are excellent. There is a new superintendent that is excellent and we are in much better shape financially than most California schools. Our enrollment for both schools was actually over 600 for 2002-2003 and will grow by about 25 for 2003-2004.
