Having attended public schools all my life, I had my reservations, however I am grateful for the decision we made to send our kids to SPV. 2 classes per grade at SPV so that they get use to a larger student body but yet still have the advantages of a small school such as knowing my children's friends as well as most of their parents. The philosophy of the school and administration is similar to mine and our Catholic faith and even though there are other kids of different faith, respect of all faiths are taught. The fact that they still say the Pledge of Allegiance or sing "God Bless America" especially now when it seems like it's a crime. The faculty is accessible and takes their time to know the children as well as the parents. The IT infrastructure is sound and ready to take advantage of the internet/cloud and I am looking forward to SPV's implementation of on-line apps and collaboration. I understand that no school is perfect and what works for one family may not work for another, but I am glad that we have chosen a school that is helping in building a strong educational AND moral foundation in our children.
I have had kids in the school for 10 years and have been extremely satisfied. The faculty and staff are great! Our Catholic beliefs and faith are taught to the students daily. The students develop a great awareness of the world around them and have many opportunities to help those in need. The curriculum is thorough and challenging. My oldest child was very prepared to enter high school. If you are considering Catholic school for your child, stop by to see all that is offered!
Our ability to provide spiritual formation and solid academics has not been hindered by the recent economic downturn. I am so proud to say that we offer frequent Mass attendance, sacrament preparation, and daily community/individual prayer. Additionally, we still offer a complete program of 180 school days, physical education, and art instruction. We are blessed to have been able to bring technology into the classrooms, and to extend it to our families through the internet. Our goal is to continue to partner with our school parents to educate the children according to the teachings of the Catholic faith in a loving, family environment.
We think that St. Pius V is an excellent Catholic School, well, it's an excellent school, period. The teachers and administration have always been willing to go the extra mile for us, and I've heard the same from other parents. In 9 years of sending our children there, we've only disliked 1 teacher, and she isn't even one of the full-time teachers (there's gotta be one in every crowd -- just keeping it real). I have been impressed with how all of the other teachers have genuinely cared about, and sought the greatest good for, each one of our children (We have three there now). I don't know how they do it, but year after year, they continue to provide an excellent academic program, while remaining one of the lowest (if not THE lowest)-costing Catholic schools in the area. I don't have any hesitations in recommending them to anyone!
As a parent whom comes from 4 generations of teachers and whom has sought out carefully, academic excelled programs for my children; I have found that St. Pius was also a nurturing setting, encouraging and stimulating both emotional and spiritual growth of their students. The teachers are exceptional, the staff is outstanding, and the 'Family' close nit setting stands above the crowd when compared to other private schools, which we have been affiliated. Don't let the fact of the low tuition deceive you, it is a great blessing that the school's heart is to make affordable such a great asset for your child's future! What a blessing this school has been for my family!May God continue to give St. Pius the ability to serve the educational and spiritual needs of children in this community, for hundreds of years to come!God bless you all at St, Pius...our extended family!
We've been very pleased with our choice to send our children to St. Pius V School. The curriculum is challenging, and our kids have learned a lot about our faith. The faculty is great. Tuition is one of lowest of Catholic schools in the area.
I am an alumni of St. Pius and have choosen to send both of my boys there. I feel the moral foundation and academic excellence that were provided to me over 20 years ago is still being provided to this day. I feel very fortunate and have a sense of security everyday knowing my children are getting the best start in life possible. The quality of education, leadership and enviorment my boys receive can have no price tag.
St. Pus V School is a wonderful school. They have great acedemics for students K-8. The teachers are nice and the students have great manners.
