Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

My child just started at Round Meadow this year and I am super impressed by his Kindergarten teacher. She is phenomenal! My child is learning so much in a loving, safe environment. The administration is responsive to parent feedback. Our teacher's aide is a great teacher also. The families are nice. The parent involvement is great. My child LOVES the Art teacher (who recently won a district award), the P.E. teacher, and the Music teacher. I've spoken to other Kinder parents and all seem very happy so far and those with other children have told me they have had great experiences and love the school.

My school is so well rounded. I love the fact that we have an emphasis on the arts like music, art and drama as well as physical education. In addition to the great teachers and academic program this school is teaching our kids how to be well rounded courteous citizens. I love that and feel lucky to be a part of Round Meadow.

Round Meadow is a gem. The teachers, staff, administration, and PFA are professional, committed, and work hard to make this school so wonderful. The parental involvement in this school is second to none. These parents care. And they are generous: with their time and their money. There are so many extras: a wonderful music teacher, an amazing PE teacher, an excellent art teacher, an amazing school counselor! Every teacher my three kids have had has been better than the last. They have been challenged academically. It is comparable to private school in many ways with the exception of second language or swimming classes. But there are plenty of other extracurricular activities. Even two girl scout troops! I feel safe sending my children to this school. No school is perfect. We, as parents, are ultimately responsible for our children's' education and I feel that this school works with you to prepare him/her for the world. Mr. Resnick has been wonderful. He truly cares about the school. He cares about his teachers and your children. I feel so lucky that my kids are there.

Round Neadow Elementary us one of the greatest institutions here in tge San Fernando Valley. I haven't once had an issue with a teachers preformance in the classroom. This schools s tandatds are just as good or even better than a private school. If a child isn't preforming up to standard of their grade level, there are programs on campus and during school that will help your child catch up and probably make then advanced. This school definately prepares them for the next level. I'm proud to be a part of this wonderful school and the education is too notch!

Schools are about kids and in that respect EVERY school is a great school. What sets a school apart from others is how well the teachers, administrators and parents recognize that fact. When everyone BELIEVES their school is a great school, that's what makes it a great school! Round Meadow students, teachers, administrators and parents all believe in this school. When you believe you are working on something great, you put your heart and soul and every effort into it in a greater way. With that collective dedication and effort, the result can be nothing short of greatness! Proud Round Meadow parent

I can honestly tell you after having the unfortunate fact of having to put my oldest in an LAUSD school, nothing compares to Round Meadow! Not only are they everything you hope for in a school for your child, they go above and beyond. When LAUSD said my kid wasnt smart enough, they got to the root of it and discovered he has a learning disability and are working on getting him help! They have every class you would only think of exists in a private school these days like art, computers, and P.E. They also have the teachers you only could have dreamed about when you were in school. The principle stives to know every child by name and is aleays there if you need to talk to him! Hands down there is no better school for a child in Los Angeles!!!

Round Meadow Elementary is a great public educational school. The teachers are very dedicated enriching and coming up with clever outside the box ideas to help children learn. They have art, computers, library, music, P.E., aides and an on site counselor that are paid for through the Pfa. It's right in level with a private school education. People from surrounding areas try to permit in the school each year. The faculty welcomes parents to participate in the school so they know what's going on at all times. We are very happy that we did an in district permit to get into Round Meadow Elementary

Our son is in Kindergarten. We are so far very impressed with the parent and Faculty involvement. Principal Resnick really seems to care and put in extraordinary effort. So far, the year is going well, our son is really learning a lot and making very nice friends. Feels more like a private school. A BIG Thanks to all the faculty and involved parents at Round Meadow!

Our daughter is lucky enough to be in Miss Kuizon's class. She is very motivated and keeps the kids excited about learning. She is one of the new teachers that Round Meadow received through funding from T.H.E. Foundation. Round Meadow is so fortunate to have them helping keep class sizes manageable and getting us such wonderful teachers.

My daughter has attended Round Meadow for 3 years and really enjoys it. We took a tour of the school before choosing to enroll her as we live in Calabasas and have the option of school of choice. The s administration office is outstanding! These women are happy to assist, answer questions and are so helpful. It stood out after checking out other schools. My daughter's teacher this year has been outstanding!! The principal is hands on and the parent participation is fantastic!!! I volunteer when and where I can. We are all so pleased with Round Meadow and feel very lucky to be a part of such an amazing school!!

Terrific new principal! Teachers, for the most part, seem caring and invested in the kids. So much parent involvement and lots of creative outlets and functions throughout the year. Pick up situation seems better since they organized the children by grades. My children are very happy here and I have met some terrific parents, too. Every school has it's share of rude and unmannered children. It's not a district thing...it's a family thing.

Great school, We just started our 5 year old and she is loving her teacher. Parent involvement is crazy. I see everyone i know working at the school on different days of the week. The computer lab is also great. All new Apple computers. There cant be that many schools that have equal computer labs. Lots of money in this school and it shows. A Class parents who care about their kids. Our kids class is small, but i heard that some of the older grades have more students in the classes. I also read about the bullying reviews. Obviously this is a problem all over the country and i feel sorry for you and your kids and hope it doesn't happen to mine, but a one star rating, come on. The school does seem to have too many kids, they should definitely cut down the number of permits.

I am a proud parent of Round Meadow Elementary School. I think the principal is an incredible leader at the school. I feel so blessed to have my kids here. The teachers are dedicated and they care a great deal about helping each child reach their best academically, emotionally and socially. While reading the other responses, I'm saddened to think that people would rather complain on a website rather than get involved and try to make the school even better. It's almost embarrassing. There is no other school that I would want my kids to go.

HERE are the EXACT STATS: 18% for inter-district permits. And then there are another 17% school-of-choice permits...meaning they are people who live in LVUSD but chose to attend our school over their home school...that's how awesome we are! :)

Round Meadow is the closest thing to a private school that any child in the area is going to get. The teachers are amazing, the principal cares SO much about what happens, the rest of the staff is very supportive and the PFA contibutes a great deal to what makes Round Meadow a truly wonderful school. Yes, the traffic is bad - but it is what it is and that is about the only negative word that I think one could ever utter about this school.

I have two children at this school and have been sorely disappointed in the lack of attention and consideration that my older child has received, and in fact, has fallen through the cracks. The teacher from last year was impatient, and lacked compassion for behavioral issues other than ones that fall on the autism spectrum (and therefore in special ed with aides). My younger child soars through and doesn't require much "extra" attention, so no issues to speak of. There is a new principal this year, that seems to be a HUGE improvement. Bullying is definitely a problem, with little to no input from staff on the inside. There are many children/families that permit into the district which makes many wonder why they are paying a premium for their homes inside LVUSD/Round Meadow.

This school is excellent. Caring teachers and an outstanding knowledge of what it means to educate and nurture. I read about the bullying, which I do think can happen everywhere. Overall, the parents are very involved and are great parents. This leads to very few children who have bad manners and attempt to bring down a solid school's reputation!!

The last few years at the school has left what to be desired in terms of the roughness of the children. There has been quite a bit of bullying going on and unfortunately there has not been a strong enough principal figure to handle this situation. We can only hope that the new principal coming in will have a better command of this awful situation.

I attend this school and I say it is the best. There is no roughness on the playground and I know. Occasionally there is some falling, and everyone goes to the nurse once in awhile, but Round Meadow is a wonderful school. The staff is great and Mr.Spence is amazing. I love this school and you should too.

I also agree about the excessive roughness on the playground and the fact that there is a lot of yelling and screaming by many of the teachers there. The test scores are not good especially when compared to Malibu. As for the reviewer who stated that the remarks about excessive roughness on the playground are unfounded, I too volunteer every week at this school and have seen it for myself on a weekly basis. There are many private schools in the area that are well worth the extra money to send your child to rather than them attending this place. Also, the staff plays favorites with certain families, certain parents, and certain children, which I find unacceptable.

Round Meadow is an excellent public school, the teachers are caring, there is lots of parental support and involvement, there are many after school enrichment programs available, and an amazing PFA that raises enough money to pay for music, art and computer classes. I couldn t ask for a better public education for my daughter. With all of the state budget cuts threatening the quality of our schools, Round Meadow is still able to do a phenomenal job. As for the other reviewers who think the playground is unsafe , I think these complaints are unfounded, I volunteer at Round Meadow at least once a week and have seen that there is supervision on the playground. And on a side note, I have heard the same bully complaints from parents in Malibu schools. I challenge these reviewers to find a public school that doesn t have some rough play on the playground.

Sadly, we have been disappointed with our child's education and overall experience with Round Meadow. The lack of supervision on the playground as well as excessive rough play is unacceptable. Even after we voiced our concerns to the teacher and principal, our child was sent to the nurse twice and we never received a call from the school. The classes were so loud and out of control that we wondered how on earth the children were able to concentrate enough to learn the fundamentals.

I agree with some other reviewers on here - Round Meadow School has many things about it that leave much to be desired. In the four years my child has attended this school, the incidents of roughness on the poorly supervised playground have been too many to count. The so-called Peaceful Players that are supposed to stop bullying, in reality do nothing. The test scores for this school are much lower than schools in Malibu. And the amount of yelling and screaming that goes on in the classroom by some of the teachers is shocking and unacceptable. I wish I could pull my child from this school and go to a private school or else a better school in Malibu.

I do not like this school, my child does not like this school, and neither does my husband. I find the education to be not as good as a private school, and I find there to be inadequate supervision on the playground. Very disenchanted with Round Meadow - we are saving up to send our child to private school and away from this school.

We purchased a home in the Las Virgenes School District, specifically for the quality of the schools. We haven't been disappointed! The teachers are wonderful and able to challenge our gifted student and engage our child who had been struggling. The parent involvement is amazing! While there have been drastic nationwide education cuts, Round Meadow still offers music, art, science, PE, computers and library. The Peaceful Players have a no bully policy and you couldn't ask for a nicer group of kids. As a parent who has come from a private school, Round Meadow is absolutely comparable to a private school education.

Round Meadow is a fantastic elementary school. We are proud to have our children there. Yes, the school is required to follow state educational guidelines & yes, it is faced w/constant budget cuts. However, any parent who thinks that their child is not challenged due to other students performance levels needs to be more introspective. We have a gifted daughter & a middle of the pack child as well. Both have the same homework - yes. My daughter is challenged by her teacher with advanced reading & writing. My son is given extra assistance if required. It is up to the parents to be involved in their own child's education & have an open dialogue with educators- whether it be in a private or public setting. Round Meadow is as close to a private school as one can get - a small, close, caring community.

Why shouldn't the education children receive at Round Meadow be compared to the education they could receive at a private school? There may be parents out there trying to decide between sending their child to Round Meadow and sending them to a private school. Round Meadow is good school only when compared to other public schools. My son attended Round Meadow for two years, but my wife and I decided to switch him to a private school because he was not being challenged enough educationally and because of unnecessary and unbridled rough play by other children on the playground there at Round Meadow. Perhaps the new principal there has since gotten a handle on the playground situation. However, my wife and I were not impressed with the education our son was receiving there, and are much happier now that he is receiving a superior private school education.

When my child went to Round Meadow from Faith Baptist, she felt disappointed. In her fourth grade class, they were still learning long division when she learned it in second and third grade. Now they have updated the curriculum, which I am not familiar with. But do not expect it to be just a good as a private school. Round Meadow does have fabulous teachers and it is in a wonderful school district.
