Tranferred from Lucia Mar School district. We immediately noticed a huge difference in quality and effort being applied by the teachers and staff at Cambria Grammar School. The classroom size in Lucia Mar School District has been over 30 the entire time our kids were enrolled. It is refreshing to have the classroom size around 15-20 at Cambria Grammar. Our children receive much more one on one time and the communication between the faculty and parents is outstanding. I would

Let's stop pretending; this school has suffered terribly with the influx of non-English speaking kids and parents who are to busy to be at the school. The teachers are caring and skilled, but challenged by out of control kids. These kids are left in the classroom to be dealt with by the teachers and are very distracting to the class. This is a policy of a stressed out principal who wants the $$ and has no where to send them. It is a sad decline of what was a good school, and there is no hope in site as the numbers continue to head in the wrong direction.

I teach a CGS and think it is a great school. We have accomplished a lot in the last 5 years. We are a California Distinguished School! 'Average' schools don't receive those. Our school population is over 50% Spanish/bilingual students and we have made huge strides in getting them up to the same level as our English only students. Look at our API scores. Come visit our school, talk to parents and community members. You'll see that our school is anything but 'average'. Sounds like the comment from the 'teacher' below is just sour grapes because she wasn't given the chance to work here also...

This school is average, it can be a lot better. The administrators need to push their teachers to teach better and not be satisfied with their performance of late. They need to scrutinize the teacher's performance and get some new staff members. Do better CGS, if not for yourself for your students!

My children have had a very positive experience at CGS. Formalized accelerated learning opportunities are availabe in reading. The school hopes to soon add an excelerated math program. The PTA funds a resident artist who provides wonderful art opportunites for the students. The principal is dedicated, caring and professional. The parent involvement is exceptional. Teachers welcome and encourage parent participation. PTA is very active and successful.

The principal Linberg is a very caring and good princ. She sets a good example and she also immediatly resolves any problem that comes up, in the few troubles we've had. The class my grandson was in was a bit of a let down as the teachers came ond went. I hope this doesn't happen this year, as I am considering home school if this goes on.
